00:00The Cairngorms has always been really really well known for being a premium
00:09winter destination for so many people. A lot of people know it for its winter
00:13activities such as climbing and skiing but to see Landmark do something very
00:18different for family market I think it's brilliant to see. We all know how
00:22difficult it is to try and get visitors to come and visit people in the
00:25wintertime in the snow as we're seeing today and I really do think that this is
00:29something that people have come far and wide to see. More people are trying to
00:33squeeze more into a short space of time so it's really nice that they can go out
00:37and maybe do different activities during the day and then come here in the
00:40evening time and it doesn't have to be a late-night activity so families with
00:43kids of all ages can come before bedtime, come after dinner. It's really something
00:48for everybody which is what we're trying to get more of.
00:52I think the idea came about with us really looking for a way to extend the
00:59summer season. Our main season runs from March to October and we've got this
01:03fantastic beautiful ancient pinewood forest, you know, this fantastic asset and
01:08we wanted to introduce people to it in the winter. Well hopefully they'll get to
01:14enjoy the ancient pinewood forest in a completely different light, literally
01:18light, or a hundred thousand different lights if we were accurate. Some sound,
01:22food and some twists and turns along the way. We started testing the
01:30water a couple of years ago with a few different lights and seeing what
01:35worked and what didn't but this year we've really gone a lot further than
01:39ever before. We've built a new area with a new catering kiosk and in the summer
01:43we opened a red squirrel trail which is a net trail that goes up eight meters
01:47into the trees and we've incorporated that this year.
01:53And what would happen if one of your light bulbs popped?
01:56You'd hear me shouting! No, I think thankfully we've got these lights
02:01behind us here that are on a hundred meter run so hopefully it wouldn't be
02:04too much of a disaster.
