00:00I think my passion for law primarily before, I mean, my specialization, I have always been
00:12passionate about law, the legal field, and I'm an adrenaline junkie. I'm like, I mean,
00:17I really like thrill, adventurous thing, adventurous things. And I think, of course, this, I mean,
00:23of course, law itself is, I've always been drawn towards this profession, probably because
00:29this is my calling, but criminal law is very challenging, and the most challenging aspect
00:33of the legal spectrum. So I think this is the reason why I'm more attracted to, I mean,
00:38I find this particular field, you know, criminal law, far more challenging. And that is the
00:42reason I find, you know, even more, you know, I mean, I'm, I'm even more passionate towards
00:49it. But otherwise, of course, I own a law firm that deals with all branches of law.
00:53But of course, I specialize in criminal law and, you know, my commitment towards the principles
01:00of justice and to upholding the principle of justice and to, you know, secure justice
01:05for clients, secure release, their release, secure equity for them, and to represent them
01:12and to, you know, become a voice for the voiceless and to, of course, to support their rights
01:16and to speak up for them. I think that is also one of the reasons why, you know, criminal
01:21law, I find criminal law, very interesting.
01:29Yeah, so I think, I mean, of course, it is, I know that to be successful at a young age,
01:35in this field of law is, of course, is a surprising aspect for many people, because when I started
01:40out, you know, the moment I passed out, of course, I was interning as a law student also
01:45the moment I started out, you know, as a lawyer, and I just started out my own, the moment
01:50I passed out, and I completed my LLB while I was doing my master's. So I was, of course,
01:53told by many people that, you know, just why don't you pursue corporate law? Why don't
01:57you pursue the corporate sector? Why don't you get into films? You know, just take the
02:00easy route. Why are you getting into the criminal? I mean, why are you getting into this field?
02:05Like, why are you, I mean, taking up criminal cases, you have to deal with criminals and
02:09that would be very risky. So I think, of course, all these challenges and all these questions
02:13and preconceived notions are, of course, brought up before me and I was asked several questions.
02:18I was, of course, even dissuaded by a lot of people, you know, telling me, hey, listen,
02:22you know, while I was even getting death threats in a lot of cases, I was told by many people,
02:26including one of my family members, and, you know, just stay away from the criminal part
02:30of it. Stay away from the, don't take up criminal cases. And then you can just continue with
02:35the rest of the field. I mean, with the field taking up the other, taking up the, like other
02:40sort of cases, not necessarily criminal cases. But despite that, I never got discouraged
02:45or dissuaded. I just kept moving forth, you know, undeterred. And I think my passion has
02:50all, has remained my strength. And I think that because I never budged because of, and
02:57all these, you know, preconceived notions never became any barrier in my head. You know,
03:01I was always very, I was always very confident that all these barriers, you know, collapse
03:06if you're very confident about your skill, your art, and that's how, that's what I've
03:09been. I just truly work towards my craft and I just work hard. And that's the reason I
03:14think I've been able to create a niche for myself at a young age.
03:22Honestly, there's a long list. And of course, it's a very different ballgame altogether
03:28while I'm dealing with the high profile cases, because, you know, I'm subjected to media
03:31scrutiny, you know, there's an external pressure, a lot of questions, and a lot of, of course,
03:36you know, opinions, public opinion basically is formed while I'm handling, before I'm defending,
03:42while I'm defending the client, there's always a public, there's already a public opinion
03:44about the client being guilty before the court declares the person guilty, my client guilty
03:51or innocent in the court of law. So, I mean, there have been, of course, all cases are
03:56special for me. I work with immense dedication on each and every case. But if you, if you
04:02ask me to speak about a few cases, then I would say, I think one of the most challenging
04:07cases would, of course, no doubt, the top murder case of the country, which is Sheenabora
04:11murder case, when I took up this case and when I was handling Indrani Mukherjee's case,
04:15I think I was told by a lot of people that, you know, don't take up this case at such
04:19a young age when, you know, she's already, I mean, when there were a lot of rejections,
04:25her bail applications were rejected several times before I took up the, before I took
04:29it up. So that time also I was told by a lot of people, don't take it up, you know, because,
04:34I mean, of course, this is a case of rejection, but somehow I was very confident when I took
04:38it up and I decided that once I've taken it up, I have to get her out because I believed
04:42in her innocence and I really, I definitely worked on the entire strategy completely in
04:47a new manner and I went through the case thoroughly and of course, with my dedication and passion,
04:52I got her out. Even in encounter matter, you know, while I was defending a model and alleged
04:58gangster also in that case, that time also I was getting death threats and, you know,
05:04but despite of the threats, you know, I never bowed down. I continued to defend my client
05:08and I got her out and when that model, you know, when she came out, she smiled at me
05:12and she tells me that, you know, you've given me a second life, I owe the second life to
05:16you and then, you know, just within a few months she was killed. I think that definitely,
05:21you know, I was deeply disturbed by that incident when she was killed within a few months of
05:25her release because I was really expecting that, you know, she had a, she could have
05:30a flourishing life, you know, after her release but somehow, unfortunately, what happened
05:35of course moved me in a way that I realized that, you know, everything is very temporary
05:40but despite of that, I also became all the more adamant that no matter what, no matter
05:45what, I will be unstoppable. I will continue to defend my client's rights even more vigorously.
05:56So, that's what I, how I already mentioned, you know, with media, of course, comes public
06:01scrutiny and when there is public scrutiny, people already create public opinion and people
06:05already have notion about my clients. Many a times, they already feel due to, you know,
06:10media narratives being built around the whole case. Sometimes, you know, clients feel that
06:15sometimes but despite of, you know, the external pressure, the media pressure, I think my specialization
06:21is that I maintain the clarity and I maintain that, you know, honesty between the media
06:27and between my communication. I always give out all correct, accurate information about
06:32the case so that, you know, it gets projected fairly without prejudicing, without causing
06:39any prejudice to prosecution or my client's case and that is, I think, that is the core
06:45of it and apart from that, I think, you know, to be able to, you know, to be able to accept,
06:51to be able to move forth, which is part of the challenges is what my speciality has been.
06:55I have handled, I am known to crack all the challenges and all the, and, you know, I mean,
07:01challenges, challenging and worst kind of cases, I have cracked and I think I am known
07:06for that, that, you know, most difficult cases have been cracked by me and the, one of the
07:09reasons besides passion is my honesty and dedication towards my craft and towards my
07:15work, you know, that I focus and I concentrate on each and every aspect of my case and I
07:20work towards it with immense passion. So, of course, with media, I am always, I always
07:27ensure and always ensure that there is clarity in communication and that helps in all the
07:33cases that I deal with and all the high profile cases and, of course, always the outcome is
07:38positive touchwood, Mashallah, because of my dedication and because of my hard work.
07:48Yeah, definitely. In fact, you know, I'm a firm believer that, you know, like when I
07:53started out, you know, I was told by several people that, hey, listen, before your hair
07:57turns grey, you know, before you become like super old, you're not going to taste success in
08:01this legal industry and I actually destroyed all these notions. I have literally, I mean,
08:06I'm a living proof that you don't need to be like 50 or above 40 to actually taste success
08:11in this profession because I started out young and I got success at a young age.
08:16So, of course, any lawyer can become successful at a young age.
08:19You don't need to, I mean, see, I mean, of course, I respect senior lawyers and seniority
08:23is something, I mean, that's something you, I mean, one must respect, but apart from that,
08:29you know, with my track record, if you see my track record is just as, I've had a track
08:34record of cases, one, just as many as probably so many senior counsels or more than far more
08:40than in many cases. So that's only because I never really bowed down to any of these,
08:46you know, preconceived notions or the bubble that many people live under.
08:50I always believe in my own, in, you know, carving my own niche rather than following any
08:56fixed notion or any path. So I think that is the reason and I, in fact, in my firm also,
09:01I hire, you know, young lawyers and so many interns and young people, you know, so that
09:05and I encourage them and motivate them even more so that, you know, I create a bunch of
09:10young, you know, young lawyers more inspiring and they are furthermore inspired to contribute effectively.
