We caught up with John at LAX, and he’s not having it, telling us he’s actually embarrassed for the haters ... saying they’re wasting time making hate videos and comments when they could be using that energy to call their doctors and get checked out.

00:00Approving the internet can find fault with anything, John Stamos got a lot of backlash this week
00:06when he went to support Dave Coulier as he begins his cancer battle.
00:11And obviously Dave was shaving his head, some of his hair had already started to fall out from the chemo treatments that he's getting.
00:19But John showed up in a bald cap.
00:21To support him.
00:22Yes.
00:22And Dave loved it.
00:25And of course...
00:26Dave had no issue with it.
00:27Of course some people on the internet started to trash John.
00:31Felt like he was insensitive.
00:32Because that's what people on the internet do.
00:33Right.
00:34Well, we got John Stamos out.
00:36He was out at LAX.
00:38Did not have the bald cap on.
00:40And this is his response to this backlash.
00:44I brought the bald cap to the studio.
00:46And I got to work next week, I'm on a new show.
00:49So I think...
00:50You can cut your hair, yeah, yeah.
00:51Regardless, I mean...
00:52Aside from that.
00:53I'm so shocked.
00:57People are nasty, man.
01:18So, here's the two things that he needs to know.
01:20Number one, he needs to understand the internet better.
01:24Yeah.
01:25Because this is how they roll.
01:26His expectations are just a little too high.
01:28This is how they roll.
01:29And the second thing he needs to know is...
01:32Don't look at the comments.
01:33Yeah.
01:34That's the best advice we can give here at TMZ.
01:37Yeah.
01:38Don't look at those comments.
01:40Because they will never make you happy.
01:42Yeah.
01:43It is just a case.
01:44There's not going to be anything good there.
01:46It is unfortunate.
01:48And that was the point why Dave was doing this.
01:50Dave said he wanted to share what he's going through.
01:53Because he wants to remind people that you should get to your doctor.
01:56You should get checked out.
01:58Because if you catch it early, the treatments now are so good that your chances of survival are very, very good.
02:07Yeah, guys.
02:08I'm with you.
02:09I mean, even if John were to make Dave a plate of cookies, there would still be people out there who would trash him for it.
02:15You gave him chocolate chip.
02:17Obviously, you should have had oatmeal.
02:18What's wrong with you?
02:19Right.
02:20Exactly.
02:21I want to pull down on a point that I made the other day.
02:23And it's if you get sensitive to this type of stuff, just stop posting on social media.
02:27You got to understand what social media is.
02:30And if you don't like people getting mad at you for whatever you do, even if it's a charity donation, just don't post.
02:37I disagree on this one, Jacob.
02:39Because, again, there is a good point.
02:42When you have a platform like Dave Coulier does and you can share a very important message with the public about getting checked out, why not do that?
02:52I think it's a good thing to do.
02:53Yes.
02:54But you can also do that without wearing a bald cap on.
02:57I mean, let's admit, putting on the bald cap, it's supposed to trigger a reaction because everyone goes, oh, wait.
03:03It makes people pay more attention to it.
03:05Yeah.
03:06And as Dave said, hey, I'm a comedian.
03:10We do fun stuff.
03:12And he had no issue with it.
03:13So everyone else should back off.
03:14And, by the way, when we say all these people, probably 100 people maximum that basically sit at home all day long and they just do that.
03:25But it's not everybody.
03:27I mean, everybody.
03:28There are a lot of people who are supportive.
03:29Almost everybody is supportive of it.
03:31Come on.
03:32Hi.
03:33I'm Eman Twinett from Maryland.
03:35So I think John understands Dave's humor and knew what would uplift him.
03:40I think where the misstep was was sharing this photo online.
03:45The bald cap understandably made Dave laugh, but the internet is sensitive about cancer, understandably, as well as when you see this photo, you're thinking, oh, my God, John Stables with this luscious hair.
03:57That's what he's known for.
03:58Shaved his head for his best friend.
04:00And it brings this outpouring of, like, oh, my God, wow.
04:02That would be a good thing if people felt that or thought that, right?
04:06I mean, that would be a good thing.
04:07I think it definitely would be a good thing.
04:09So then what's the problem doing it?
04:11I mean, people just feel solidarity when they look at the picture.
04:14I think because now they know that it's a bald cap and that he didn't actually shave his head.
04:20So it feels performative and not like he actually did this nice thing.
04:24I don't want to be argumentative with you, but these are two performative guys.
04:28That's what they do for a living.
04:31So it's kind of on brand for them to be performative.
04:35I don't know.
04:36I mean, no good deed goes unpunished.
04:40Indeed.
04:41That would be.
04:42Universal truth.
