00:00DJ Paul, we got three six mafia reuniting at Coachella.
00:07Let's go man.
00:08Let's go.
00:09So excited, man.
00:10Our first time.
00:11I've never even been to Coachella.
00:13Wow.
00:14Wow.
00:15So I mean, how'd that come about?
00:16You know, like you guys been, you know, running in y'all's separate lanes.
00:21Well, we actually reunited for, for shows, not for music, but for shows at the end of
00:282019, we did two shows.
00:32We did the homes basically.
00:34We did Memphis right outside of Memphis, South Haven, Mississippi.
00:38And we did Atlanta, which is like what we kind of people think we kind of started.
00:43They was lit, lit, unbelievably lit and then that was like February 2020 and then that's
00:50when the world shut down and we started back up.
00:56I think we started back up a year or two ago, we did Memphis in May, right before Gangsta
01:05Boo passed away, rest in peace, Gangsta Boo, that was our last, that was the first time
01:09we had did a concert with Gangsta Boo since 2000 or 1999 or something.
01:16So we reunited, did Memphis in May for the city, sold out, crazy packed.
01:22You guys were all up there for the verses too.
01:25Yeah, the verses, that was in 2021, I think it was.
01:30You said you've never been to Coachella.
01:32Coachella is, you know, the easygoing flower in the grass, you know, chill vibe and, you
01:38know, Three 6 Mafia, you know, you guys are one of the inventors of crunk music.
01:43So how's that going to play out on stage?
01:46Well, they're going to have to put those flowers up for a minute because they're going to get
01:52crushed, man.
01:53They're going to get ruined in the mosh pit, man.
01:55It's going to be wild, man, you know, like that's what we do, man.
01:59We're going to bring the excitement to it like we always do, you know, and I can't wait
02:05to see.
02:06Yeah, I like challenges like that.
02:07You know, like you guys are doing Coachella and you guys got Travis Scott being one of
02:12the headliners, you know, he comes from the Three 6 Mafia family tree, no doubt.
02:17Yeah.
02:18You know, like this is his return to Coachella since the whole Astroworld thing.
02:23You know, like, how do you think you see him, you know, dominating?
02:28He's going to destroy it.
02:30I haven't seen him live in person, but I've seen, you know, shows online and it's crazy.
02:37He's like the younger version of us, you know, it's like shows are wild, you know.
02:44I just wish I had footage, more footage of our shows back in those days when I was his
02:50age because it was crazy.
02:52You know, I look at all these memes that's going around now and it should be like life
02:57in the 80s and life in the 90s and this and that and everybody was dancing and having
03:02fun in the club.
03:03I'm like, man, that's how it used to be.
03:07Is there like not an incentive to release new music?
03:12You know, if people are coming in, clearing the checks for the old hits, for the classics,
03:20does that make you not want to just even touch the studio?
03:23Yeah.
03:24Yeah.
03:25We're going to.
03:26Obviously, we always in the studio on our solo stuff, Juice is always bringing out new
03:29stuff.
03:30I'm always bringing out new stuff.
03:31I just brought out a new album Halloween called Music for the Funeral.
03:35It's an electronic album.
03:36So it's like the Mafia sound mixed with mixed with electronic music.
03:41It's a very, very different, unique album.
03:43Make sure y'all check that out.
03:45But as far as 3 6, we kind of dibbling and dabbling with the idea.
03:50So like, you know, it ain't far fetched.
03:52It might happen.
03:53You know, when the time is right, you know what I'm saying?
03:56He got a lot going on.
03:57I got a lot going on.
03:58So, you know, we'll see when it when it, you know, you got to let things like this happen
04:03organically.
04:04You can't you can't force perfection.
04:07You know what I'm saying?
04:08Y'all sound like outcasts.
04:09Ha ha ha ha ha ha.
04:12Hey, wait, we come from the same era.
04:15We know outcasts really, really well.
04:17But supposedly, we were supposed to be on a lot of other big festivals, make sure that,
04:23you know, I'm not going to mention until the chicks until the chicks clear, man.
04:27You guys never had any issues remembering the words of your classic hits?
04:31No.
04:32It's like when we got back on stage, everybody knew where they were supposed to stand.
04:37What was they supposed to do when this person did this part and everything just it just
04:42it was it magically just fell right into place.
04:45I know like Rest in Peace, Gangsta Boo, everyone else.
04:49I know you guys took some hits.
04:50But when you guys were all together, what was your favorite song to perform live?
04:56Who run it without a doubt, because we did everything that was in the video.
05:00You know, like when Lord of Mustard rapping his part, Crunchy Black star dance and just
05:05like he did in the video, people expected to be like that.
05:08And it was exactly like that.
05:10Who run it without a doubt.
