00:00President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. led the groundbreaking ceremony of what is considered the largest solar renewable energy not only in the Philippines but in the whole world.
00:13It will be held in Nueva Ecija where it is expected to meet the growing needs of the country in energy while promoting sustainable and clean energy.
00:25This is Benji Durango of PTV for Panbansa Live.
00:31This is where I am going to build Alan, this vast land that you can see behind me.
00:37This is where the largest solar power plant and battery storage facility in the whole world will be built.
00:44President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. himself is excited about this project.
00:493,500 hectares of land from Nueva Ecija to Bulacan is crossing the two provinces.
00:58It will be called M-Terra Solar.
01:00President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. led the groundbreaking ceremony of what is considered the largest solar renewable energy not only in the Philippines but in the whole world.
01:05The 200 million peso project of Miralco Powergen Corporation and Terra Solar Philippines Inc. is in full swing.
01:12This is in line with the President's desire to promote renewable energy in the country.
01:17The project will be divided into two phases.
01:19In February 2026, the 2,400 megawatt solar farm will be opened and 1,000 megawatts will be added in February 2027.
01:28When completed, it will be able to generate 3,500 megawatts from its 5 million panels.
01:34This is equivalent to 2.4 million households or 67% of the NCR.
01:40According to President and CEO Emmanuel Rubio,
01:43because the power generation cost will be reduced, it is also possible for Miralco to lower its cost to its customers.
01:49It will also be able to provide 10,000 jobs to Filipinos while reducing the 4.3 million tons of carbon emission per year.
01:59Today we take a leap towards the future, driven by innovation and sustained by our collective hope for a cleaner and greener Philippines.
02:10When this is operated, the consumers will feel it.
02:14The full delivery of its capacity is expected to be in February 2027.
02:20But the first phase will be delivered in March 2026.
02:29Alan, this project will put the Philippines on the list of leading countries in green energy generation. Alan.
02:42Thank you very much, Benji Durango.
