Concerns are growing over cables carrying internet data being cut or damaged, with cases reported in a number of European countries including Germany, Finland, Sweden and Lithuania.
Transcript
00:00Danish and Nordic teams are continuing to inspect undersea cables after two were damaged
00:06in the Baltic Sea between Germany and Finland and Sweden and Lithuania.
00:10In the Eastern Sea, I would like to make it clear that this is of course a serious matter,
00:16not least in light of the current, without a doubt, political situation. I also note
00:22that both the German and Swedish sides have said that there is suspicion that there could
00:27be talk of sabotage. And in that case, of course, it is very worrying.
00:33It comes after the Danish military announced it's monitoring a Chinese ship spotted in
00:38its waters just two days after the cables were cut.
00:42Marine traffic vessel tracking data showed the Chinese vessel Yipeng 3 anchored in the
00:47Kattegat Strait between Denmark and Sweden on Wednesday.
