00:00I saw the horses looking out into the field, and I saw this little kitten.
00:06Hi!
00:08He was just starving.
00:10Are you hungry?
00:11In the pasture was Stargazer, and he had of course heard these cries, but then his ears and his face were like,
00:17what is this?
00:20I know, what is it?
00:22And I thought, I'll go get some food, and I lured him out.
00:26He kind of came running out pretty easily, and of course I couldn't touch him or anything like that.
00:32He started following me closer to the barn.
00:35All three horses were snipping him through the fence as to almost say,
00:39hey, this is a good place, welcome to the herd.
00:46He warmed up to them much quicker than he warmed up to us.
00:50I was a little nervous he would get stepped on or something, but he navigated around them.
00:56He wasn't afraid of them.
00:59He spent the night with the horses, actually.
01:01I wanted to make sure he was okay, so he hung out outside with them that first night.
01:08Let's see if he's still here.
01:09Next morning when I woke up, I was really, really hoping he would still be there.
01:16There he is.
01:18It was that next day he got more and more comfortable.
01:24Here, I'll figure something out for you, little buddy.
01:28And he just started following us along with the barn work, and he's hanging out.
01:33It's just really fun to see how the horses interacted with him, and how he interacted back with them, too.
01:40He was like, yeah, these are my friends, and this is my family, and I belong here.
01:44So I knew he wasn't ever leaving. He was going to stay here.
01:49So Turnip became part of the family because he just turned up.
01:55The night before we brought him into the house, Gibson was sitting on the windowsill looking out, and there was Turnip.
02:01And so I thought, okay, he wants it.
02:03Finally, we were able to put him in the little crate, and I wanted to get him taken to the vet and to make sure he was healthy.
02:09So once we knew he was okay, we definitely kept him separate for a little while,
02:14and then slowly introduced him to our two domestic cats, Gibson and Churchill.
02:21Turnip just waltzed into the house, and kind of took over, and is best friends with the cats, and just hangs out, and loves everyone that comes to visit.
02:34Just acted like he's been here from day one.
02:38Of course he has to go visit Stargazer and Nora, because they were so important, part of his rescue journey.
02:48I'm so grateful that he chose us, and that this is how it ended up, because he's just perfect, and you couldn't imagine anything different now.
