00:00The subsidy research programme needs to be re-established to meet the needs,

00:05like the original plan under the main data base,

00:08not based on the level of income,

00:10so that the benefits reach the right groups in need.

00:15Economic analyst Jeffrey Williams said

00:18a family with a family member needs 24-hour care due to disability

00:23or the patient must need a subsidy for health care

00:27even though they belong to the T15 category.

00:31Williams added that the cost of living is not necessarily lower

00:35for young people,

00:36so assistance for them should be the same as for the elderly.

00:41The Executive Officer of the Malaysian User Union Association, T Saravanan,

00:45said the subsidy programme based on needs

00:48will be more consistent with different dualities for each household.

00:54The Chairperson of the Malaysian Economic Bank, Muhammad Malik Seberhat Afzal Nizam Rashid said

00:58the subsidy research programme will ensure that the savings obtained

01:03can be distributed to critical sectors

01:05such as education and health care for low-income groups,

01:10in addition to infrastructure development and national security.

01:14He said the research will help reduce fiscal deficits and eventually government debt.

01:19This will be seen positively by the Credit Funding Agency.
