00:00When I told a good friend of mine that I'm going to test drive a quite performant hybrid car today,
00:08he asked me what's performant with the Toyota Prius, but actually this is not a Prius.
00:14This is the new Lamborghini Revuelto.
00:18The Revuelto is the worthy successor to the Aventador, which was produced until 2022.
00:24But we're not talking about an evolution here. In many ways, it's a revolution.
00:31It's unbelievable, but driving the Revuelto is, well, almost comfortable.
00:39No, not even almost. Driving the Revuelto is really comfortable.
00:45It's a completely different story in comparison to the Aventador,
00:50especially regarding motion sickness with the driver and the co-driver.
00:56And the Revuelto differs from its predecessor and other vehicles in many other ways as well.
01:07What you really have to get used to is that you don't have any lever for the windshield wipers or the turn signal.
01:16Instead, you have it on the steering wheel. On the left you have the turn signal, on the right you have the wipers.
01:23That's really unusual.
01:26In fact, the steering wheel is where you'll find almost all of the Revuelto's controls.
01:36With the driving mode selector on the left side of the steering wheel, there is a new entrance called Città, which means city.
01:43And you can drive fully electric for 10 kilometres.
01:47On the right-hand side, we have a small knob where we can change the hybrid setting between recharge,
01:56which charges the battery in approximately six minutes, hybrid or, if I'm at least in sport mode, performance.
02:06In sport mode, the two electric motors on the front axle constantly provide maximum power to get the most agility out of the drivetrain.
02:14And the hybrid system also has other special features.
02:20In contrast to other hybrids, you can go fully electric also in higher speeds.
02:25And it's really, it's still a smooth ride.
02:28Of course, it's not as powerful as with the 6.5-litre V12, but it's enough for cruising as long as you can't overtake anyways.
02:41But anyone who thinks the e-assistance only offers advantages on country roads, highways and racetracks is mistaken.
02:49In difference to the Aventador, you can ride the Revuelto at low speeds without the car being bumpy all the time
02:58and you have the feeling that it screams for an open road.
03:01Because the electric motors do what the V12 can't do.
03:06A smooth ride on slow speeds.
03:11Like almost all Lamborghini models, the 1,015-horsepower Revuelto comes equipped with all-wheel drive.
03:18But here, too, there's a new approach.
03:21On the Revuelto, you don't have a physical connection between the gearbox in the back and the front axle, as it was with the Aventador.
03:30Instead, you have only these two 110-kilowatt electric motors in the front, one at each wheel.
03:37And this gives good traction, but you have space in the centre tunnel.
03:45And that's the place where Lamborghini put the battery, at the low end of the car, to give a sporty performance.
03:53The engine-gearbox combination has also been rotated, moving the engine further forward.
04:04Among other things, this results in better weight distribution.
04:08And the eight-speed dual-clutch transmission on the Revuelto is so much better than the seven-speed automatic gearbox on the Aventador.
04:18It's a completely different story.
04:23That's really impressive. Wow!
04:33Despite its length of almost five metres and width of over two metres, the Revuelto is by no means bulky.
04:43It's designed to combine classic Lamborghini proportions with strong, pronounced lines that herald a new future.
04:51At least according to the marketing department in Sant'Agata Bolognese.
05:01The exposed V12 engine is reminiscent of some of the small-series manufacturer's most iconic models.
05:08Underneath the front hood, you find a trunk, which is not as big as in an SUV.
05:26And I wouldn't move from one location to another with that.
05:29But you can fit two pieces of cabin luggage inside.
05:32And this is enough for a weekend trip to the shore or to the mountains.
05:39Lamborghini calls it the feel-like-a-pilot philosophy.
05:44We say, fly me to the moon.
05:47The futuristic interior is finished to a high standard, with everything geared towards the driver.
05:54And the seats are surprisingly comfortable.
06:00So comfortable, in fact, that you could easily drive for eight hours, if it weren't for the high fuel consumption.
06:09The Revuelto guzzles 11.86 litres per 100 kilometres.
06:17With a discharged battery, that figure goes up to 17.6 litres.
06:21So you have to refuel after about 380 kilometres.
06:28The Revuelto is more or less completely digital in terms of user interface.
06:32We have this screen in the middle, where we control the climate control, the navigation system, whatever.
06:39And the Revuelto also has a digital cockpit, where I can change the view, for example, that I can see a map.
06:46And I can, this is very funny, place some more information here, just by the use of two fingers.
06:58And I pull it over and then it appears in front of me.
07:01But that's not all. The Revuelto also has a third display in front of the co-driver.
07:07And I can also give my co-driver some information on the car with the use of my fingers.
07:17Isn't that cool?
07:20But more comfort means more weight.
07:23Although the chassis has become lighter, as has the engine,
07:26more electronics, the new gearbox, the electric motors and the battery make the car heavier.
07:32The Revuelto is about 200 kilograms heavier than the Aventador.
07:36But because the car is so powerful, with more than 1,000 horsepower,
07:42it feels as if it would only weigh 1,000 kilograms in terms of acceleration.
07:482.5 seconds from a standstill to 100 kilometers an hour.
07:52And 200 kilometers an hour are reached in less than nine seconds.
07:57That's really impressive.
08:01Lamborghini's brochure puts the Revuelto's top speed at 350 kilometers per hour.
08:11A new car is always better than the predecessor.
08:14That's not new, and this is the same with the Revuelto.
08:18We have more headroom, we have more space behind the seats, we have more legroom.
08:24It's really a whole new level on this car.
08:28And the air suspension in our test car ensures that bumps aren't transmitted directly to the driver's spine.
08:35As our tester already said, this car is really comfortable.
08:39With all this comfort, you could probably ask, isn't it boring to drive a car?
08:44Couldn't you drive a different car which is as comfortable as this one?
08:49And the answer is clearly no.
08:51It's incredible.
08:53Well, it's a bit pricey.
08:56It's not for everybody.
08:58Not for me.
09:00Probably not for you.
09:01But for some people, it is the right car.
09:05And it's really a lot of fun to drive this car.
09:10With a base price of just over half a million euros in Germany, the Revuelto is not what we'd call a bargain.
09:17But it's already sold out until late 2026,
09:21and limited supply was always a guarantee for an increase in value with earlier Lamborghini models.
09:28The new Lamborghini Revuelto is really a major leap forward in terms of comfort,
09:34in terms of performance, in terms of drivability.
09:38This is really a great car.
09:40The first-ever Lamborghini hybrid car.
09:43Well, I have to admit, my expectations were even topped.
09:48It's really a great car, and the best message for our Lamborghini customers
09:53It's really a great car, and the best message for our Lamborghini enthusiasts
09:58is that the V12 in this car is still alive,
10:01and the hybrid system doesn't cut any of the characteristics of this powerful engine,
10:07but only pushes it to another level.
10:11But as you can also drive purely electric for about 10 kilometers,
10:16this car also gives an outside what will come with electric Lamborghinis.
10:23To sum up, the Revuelto boasts an incredibly powerful drivetrain,
10:27stellar handling and increased comfort.
10:31On the downside, this machine consumes a lot of fuel and emits a lot of CO2.
10:37The price, however, is not a drawback,
10:39seeing as Lamborghini's clientele would probably even pay another one or 200,000 euros more for this car.
