00:00Another subject of discussion around Arsenal this week have been some comments by former striker Robin van Persie.
00:06The former gunner has recently taken charge of Eredivisie side Heerenveen
00:10and has been asked about his ambitions for his coaching career.
00:12Chris, tell us what he said about Arsenal and what you made of it.
00:16Yes, some really interesting comments from Robin van Persie.
00:20He spoke in an interview with the Dutch TV station Sportscast and he said,
00:25I don't expect to work at Arsenal. I think that door is closed.
00:29Because of my switch to Man United, that's my assessment.
00:32You never know in football, but that's my assessment.
00:35It's still sensitive for them, not for me.
00:38It's especially sensitive for the Arsenal fans.
00:41I have learned that planning so far ahead makes no sense at all.
00:45Then he spoke about his coaching role at Heerenveen in Holland.
00:52That's where he is at the moment. He's head coach there in Holland.
00:56Back where he started, of course.
00:59Interesting comments from Robin van Persie.
01:02He's someone who is a bit of a polarising figure.
01:05For me personally, I think he's one of the best players to play.
01:08Technically, one of the best players to play for Arsenal.
01:12Absolute wand of a left foot.
01:15Scored 132 goals in 278 games for the club and won an FA Cup as well.
01:21Of course, he moved to Man United in 2012.
01:25Won the league in his first season under Sir Alex Ferguson.
01:29So he was justified in his move.
01:32But I think the way that he moved, with the letter to the fans,
01:38I just don't think it was the best kind of...
01:43It wasn't done in the best way.
01:45But of course, leaving for a rival is never going to be done in the best way.
01:49I think from van Persie's side, he will probably have other options.
01:54He's probably right that the door is closed.
01:58I don't think he would be welcome back any time soon.
02:01But the future may change, of course.
02:04Obviously, it's a bit premature to be talking about van Persie's future management career.
02:08We don't know if he's any good at it yet. We'll find out soon.
