An inquest was opened today to investigate the deaths of nine-month-old baby Kobi Shepherdson and her father Henry Shepherdson at the Whispering Wall near Williamstown in April 2021.

00:00A coronial inquest today heard that 38-year-old Henry Shepardson had a history of domestic
00:08violence offending and had been given access to his daughter, Coby, on the morning of the

00:14Deputy State Coroner Ian White heard Henry Shepardson and his daughter died at the Whispering
00:20Wall near the Barossa in April 2021.
00:24Mr Shepardson and the baby were found at the bottom of the wall.
00:28The court heard before the deaths Mr Shepardson called Coby's mother from the Adelaide Remand
00:34Centre almost 150 times and manipulated her to drop domestic violence charges.
00:41He was later released from custody.
00:43On his request, a court later withdrew a non-contact clause and Mr Shepardson arranged to look
00:49after Coby while her mother attended an appointment, taking the baby to the Whispering Wall.
00:55The inquest will continue this afternoon with the aim being to find recommendations
01:00to prevent these kinds of incidents from happening again.
