A heartbroken dog owner from Sheppey had to put her dog put to sleep after it was spooked by loud fireworks.

00:00On Monday morning we had to put my dog down after she had a stress-induced stroke caused by our neighbour's fireworks.
00:08So on Saturday the fireworks went off and they were loud, they gave us no warning, they were like show grade level loud
00:16with no warning whatsoever and they were really close and she was a mess.
00:20Was pacing around, was panting lots, was hiding behind my other dog Toby.
00:25I've just never seen her like this, it was always Toby that was the scared one, not her.
00:29And then on the Sunday we noticed she couldn't even get up on the bed, she just didn't see herself,
00:35hadn't been to the toilet, was refusing to eat and we took her to the vet thinking oh there's something really wrong.
00:40The emergency vet did loads of tests and concluded that it was neurological
00:45and they think it was a stress-induced stroke caused by the fireworks.
00:49And then on the Monday morning she completely lost her use of her legs, her tail, completely paralysed,
00:55still hadn't been to the toilet and the vet kind of suggested but didn't tell us that the chance of survival
01:01and quality of life was completely gone and the kind thing to do was to say goodbye.
