With Halloween and Bonfire night both getting nearer, pet owners will be on high-alert in preparation for fireworks, which can so often terrify animals. With that in mind, we went out into Manchester to ask people on the street how their animals react to fireworks.

00:12So I've had dogs that don't mind them, will go out and watch them and I've had dogs that
00:16will, that need like those things that you wrap them in so they're like the blankets
00:21to stop them from being scared.
00:22My sister has a dog and her dog's scared stiff so obviously she takes the dog away, things
00:27like that.
00:28She has a lodge up in the lake so she goes to a quiet zone but for him he's fine so I
00:32can take him out.
00:33A bit of both because there is a lot of pets around and a lot of them are scared of it
00:38so maybe you should give a warning or just make sure you're there with your pets when
00:42the fireworks are going off.
00:43In a way I think it's kind of avoidable, I know someone that's got a little Jack Russell
00:47who is terrified of fireworks and they go away to the Peak District because they live
00:50in an area where there's a lot of fireworks around this time of year so they just book
00:54a week away somewhere else or just stay in a cottage away from all of the annoyance.
