00:00All right, we get into Jets cults, which it's funny how these teams, despite their records,
00:09keep themselves a part of the conversation.
00:13The Jets at three and seven, though, I guess that can't be too surprising.
00:18Indianapolis with the in and out quarterback change or back to Anthony Richardson.
00:24Let me just start on that point to you, Lisey.
00:27Your thoughts on the cults going back to Anthony Richardson after two terrible performances
00:33from Joe Flacco.
00:34Yeah, it's the right move.
00:35I mean, Joe Flacco showed us his immobility a couple of weeks ago on the Sunday night
00:39game against Minnesota.
00:40They exposed Joe Flacco in terms of his weaknesses, right?
00:44You blitz him early and often, you keep him in the pocket, and you force him to get the
00:48football out of his hands in two or three seconds to short underneath throws.
00:53That's the perfect game plan for Minnesota.
00:55They won that matchup, and Bills duplicated that.
00:59They forced three turnovers again, and again, when you look at just big picture, cults aren't
01:05going anywhere with Joe Flacco under center, right?
01:08We talked about it.
01:09You might get to a certain level, but then you're going to plateau with Joe Flacco just
01:13the way the Browns did in getting blown out in the second meeting of the Houston Texans,
01:19right?
01:20So again, big picture, it was the right move in terms of this matchup going up against
01:24the Jets.
01:25The Jets' defense has not lived up to expectations, certainly not after Robert Saleh got fired,
01:30right?
01:31This is a perfect opportunity to get Anthony Richardson back in the mix, expose that defense.
01:36Look at what Kyler did to them, right?
01:38You know, extending plays now, I'm not suggesting we get that type of effort today, but with
01:43Jonathan Taylor and that rushing attack, I think it's all cults.
01:46I'll take the four points on the road.
01:48Yeah, I do like the cults in this game, and it's not so much if we're talking about Anthony
01:51Richardson.
01:52I think the organization handled it perfectly.
01:54It's time to get him back in.
01:55He's supposed to be your franchise guy, sat him down for two games, maybe got his work
01:58ethic back up there.
01:59He saw some things that maybe he didn't see while he was playing.
02:02Love that move here.
02:03But this move is more indicative of, it's a perfect placement against the Jets.
02:06Well, Don, it's a road game here.
02:07They have to win.
02:08The Jets are desperate.
02:09I understand all that.
02:10But the Jets also have the 29th ranked rush defense going up against the number one rushing
02:14offense here, should I say, run blocking, which then you say, well, why aren't they
02:18that great?
02:19Well, Jonathan Taylor was injured a lot of the season, now back two to three games with
02:22over 100 yards.
02:23He should pulverize that defense, which play action pass works perfectly here.
02:27You should be able to get those scramble plays like Joe was talking about last week that
02:30the Arizona Cardinals got.
02:31I was a buyer last week of the Jets possibly making the playoffs and particularly their
02:36offense looking good against a defense that's not very good in Arizona.
02:39It looked like the 76 Steelers were playing last week against the New York Jets.
02:43Are we saying that the Colts have a great defense?
02:45Not necessarily.
02:46We have a quarterback that can't move off a line.
02:49You have wide receivers that aren't explosive enough to exploit anything.
02:52And I just feel that the offense today for Indianapolis will be able to move the football
02:55enough against the Jets.
02:56And quite frankly, I just don't, Aaron Rodgers, Devontae Adams, Garrett Wilson, I don't even
03:02trust them.
03:03It's incredible we're at that point now.
03:04No, there's no reason.
03:06Right.
03:07I mean, I will say for the Jets, the trade up record is their ATS record.
03:12They have won in all of their three victories.
03:15They've won against the number as well because they've won by a touchdown plus in those football
03:20games there.
03:22So potentially, if they are going to be able to get it, then that's how they will.
03:25The money continuously is clearly coming in on the Jets as this number's up to four and
03:30a half now in some spots from three and a half here.
03:35What stood out to me the more I looked at this game is the fact that that AFC wildcard
03:40picture, the Colts are part of that conversation.
03:43And if the Jets hold today, those two teams will have the same record.
03:48And I know we could again easily go, well, that just means Indy's done.
03:51I think Indy's done regardless.
03:52I don't think Indy's going anywhere.
03:53But I don't know, does it mean that the Jets are knocking on the door again?
03:58Nope.
03:59Like how many times can the Jets?
04:01But Donnie, if they get to four and seven, yes, right.
04:04I know you like if Cincinnati loses today, they are going to have the same record as
04:08the Bengals.
04:09Yes.
04:10And I understand that.
04:11And you could never knock anybody out until they're actually out of the NFL's wild week
04:14to week.
04:15You see teams blow teams out, then get blown out the next week.
04:17You look at their schedule, the Colts, which is a winnable game, their favorite.
04:19I get that.
04:21It's a winnable game.
04:22They'll probably even be favored there at the Dolphins, at the Jaguars, Rams, Bills,
04:25Dolphins.
04:26It's not a tough close to it.
04:27But sometimes you just have to look at the teams that they played and say, why are we
04:30giving free pass?
04:31Like, yeah, this should be the Colts.
04:32Yep.
04:33This should be the Seahawks.
04:34They don't beat any of these teams.
04:35They look absolutely horrendous.
04:36And you say, well, you know what sticks out, Joe?
04:37The Texans, 21-13.
04:38I love that game.
04:40Not because I like the Jets.
04:41It was an awful spot for the Texans.
04:43And they lost that game.
04:44They were completely injured.
04:45Play that game on a Sunday with Nico Collins and a couple of the Wildcats.
04:48They smashed the Jets.
04:49You can't have one blip on the radar and the rest absolutely just atrocious losses.
04:54The fact that they put up six points against Arizona, the offense was completely taken
04:59out of their game plan.
05:00And moving forward, they lose this game to Anthony Richardson and the Colts.
05:04They really have to make an assessment about big picture Aaron Rodgers and this team as
05:08a whole, right?
05:09They need to have a coach in there that they get that motivates the locker room.
05:13You can't have Aaron Rodgers running the locker room offensively, defensively.
05:18The coaching staff is afraid to say anything and coach the young players up because they
05:22want to upset Aaron Rodgers.
05:24You can't just be that way.
05:26And this was allowed by Woody to get Aaron Rodgers in the building because everybody
05:32said last year, right, with Zach Wilson, if we just had a quarterback, we would be in
05:37the playoffs and a potential Super Bowl contender.
05:39Guess what?
05:40You got your quarterback.
05:41He sucks right now, right?
05:43Bottom line, not living up to expectations.
05:46And that's where we're at.
05:47You know, it is where we are on the Jets.
05:50I just look, I feel almost ridiculous doing it because they don't deserve to be tossed
05:56in.
05:57But just like last week against Arizona, they were favorites.
06:00Here they are again, favorites.
06:02And guess what's going to happen if they win this game?
06:04They're going to come off the bye host in Seattle as favorites like that.
06:09And then they're going to they're going to go to Miami and it'll be OK.
06:13This is a loser leaves town game.
06:16Also, I don't know.
06:17Maybe they'll just lose today like they do.
06:19I just want to circle back on the Richardson situation, because Don, I know you and I have
06:25already talked about this a few different times this week and in some different spots,
06:29but I still cannot get over Sunday morning or Sunday, excuse me, afternoon after the
06:38Colts had another loss of Flacco looking atrocious and Shane Steichten going, he's 100 percent
06:44my quarterback moving forward until I say otherwise.
06:46Like why he wouldn't have had the the presence of mind to say, we're going to continue to
06:51evaluate our quarterback room and we'll make a determination as the week goes on.
06:57Why he would make that double down.
06:58It just to me continues to open the door for my belief that Shane Steichten doesn't make
07:03the decisions in Indianapolis.
07:04So you want to avoid that at the press conference right after the game.
07:06Like you don't want to open up the next 15 questions about Anthony Richardson, not about
07:11the game itself.
07:12So to me, you say that shuts it down.
07:13You talk about the game.
07:14You evaluate the tape.
07:15You make your decision on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday when the game plan gets installed.
07:18So I don't have an issue with that one bit.
07:20And again, I think the organization handled this perfectly.
07:22And you know how you're going to know that?
07:24What are you going to get out of the game today with Anthony Richardson?
07:26I think it's solid performance out of him with a victory, but you just need to see competence.
07:30If he goes out there in a loss, they lose 24 to 21 in this game, let's just say, and
07:33he plays well, two touchdown passes, doesn't turn the football over.
07:36You're fine with that.
07:37I expect a really good performance at Anthony Richardson.
07:38I do too.
07:39I think running and running the football as well.
07:41I think he could have a big day over 50 yards rushing.
07:44I mean, again, Kyler broke contain multiple times.
07:47Now he looked downfield.
07:48I don't expect many chunk plays, but look for him to rush for over 50 today.
