Super typhoon Man-Yi swept across the Philippines' main island of Luzon on Sunday, threatening heavy rain in the capital region Metro Manila, after triggering more than a million evacuations and damaging buildings in several areas.

00:07forced to flee to emergency shelters due to the deadly effects of super typhoon Manyi.
00:15We evacuated because every time there is a typhoon, the water rises in the nearby river.
00:20We have children with us and we are scared. That is why we evacuated.
00:25With powerful winds reaching 185 kilometers per hour and waves of 44 meters, Manyi, known
00:32locally as Pepito, has splintered homes, schools and businesses, uprooted trees, and brought
00:39down power lines.
00:42And it's the sixth tropical cyclone to hit the Philippines in a month. In October, Tropical
00:47Storm Tramie and Typhoon Kongray brought heavy flooding, triggered landslides, and killed
00:53more than 160 people. The damage to communities, infrastructure and farmlands has been extensive.
01:00Although meteorologists say Manyi is expected to weaken slightly, they are still urging
01:05people to take precautionary measures and warn it still poses a potentially dangerous
01:11and life-threatening situation.
