00:00In 2018, Billboard announced the creation of the Chip Hooper Award for young professionals in the

00:06live music business. Created to inspire the next generation of music executives, the Chip Hooper

00:11Award is given once a year to highlight one up-and-coming agent, promoter, manager, or executive

00:19rising the ranks of the music business. It's given the honor of one of the biggest beloved

00:25music mentors in the industry, the late music agent to acts like Phish and Dave Massey's band

00:32Chip Hooper. You meet people in your life that end up changing the trajectory of how the rest

00:39of your life goes. Chip was absolutely one of those people for me, recalls Kelly Stabolsky,

00:45the inaugural winner of the Chip Hooper Award in 2018. Hooper was a loving partner, father,

00:53artist, and photographer, but is best known for his work as an agency builder

00:58and recruiter, forging relationships with music agents and small booking outfits

01:03that share the culture and values of Monterey Peninsula artists and later

01:08going to codify their beliefs in the human-centric name Paradigm. 2021 Paradigm was bought by

01:15Wasserman Music and they continue to support the Chip Hooper Award. This year's winner was chosen

01:21by a select jury of Chip's close friends at Wasserman and his adult children Valerie and Max.

01:29Members, pleased to announce the 2024 winner of the Chip Hooper Award, the third recipient

01:34of this prestigious award since we've given it out. This year's winner is Shereen Nuri with CAA.

01:52Hi everyone. I didn't have the privilege of knowing Chip personally, but I know how much his

01:58mentorship meant to those I consider to be my mentors. Because of that, I'm grateful to be

02:03receiving this recognition tonight in his name. I'd like to thank Billboard, my friends and teachers

02:09at CAA, Carol Kinzel, Mitch, Rick, Daryl, Katie, Jenna, Manning, and Joe Hadley. I also want to

02:17thank the incredible artists I have the privilege of working alongside. My parents, my amazing

02:23husband Sam, and our three-month-old baby boy Ocean, who's my greatest teacher. Thank you everyone.
