00:00Arctic air replaces high pressure, bringing freezing temperatures and a threat of snow.
00:05For the rest of Thursday though and into Friday, high pressure remains close by,
00:08bringing plenty of dry and settled weather. A cold weather front though will approach from
00:13the north-west, bringing strengthening winds and outbreaks of rain to north-west Scotland
00:17on Friday afternoon, and this will then sink southwards, bringing outbreaks of rain which
00:21will turn increasingly light and patchy across England and Wales on Saturday.
00:26Brighter though further north on Saturday afternoon, with sunny spells and blustery
00:29showers. That cold front though will have also dragged with it southwards cold Arctic air,
00:34so some of those showers may be wintry over the Scottish hills.
00:39Cold air will then become widespread across the whole of the UK by Sunday and into next week,
00:44bringing freezing temperatures, frosty nights and more unsettled weather with a threat of sleet and
00:49snow.
