00:00Uzbekistan highlighted the importance of global cooperation during the week of international partnership initiatives held in Tashkent.
00:10Hundreds of experts, representatives from international organizations and politicians gathered to discuss a diverse array of topics including eco-friendly tourism and sustainable economic growth.
00:22First of all it's a platform for discussion and I think it's a wonderful opportunity for Uzbekistan to present to the international community new Uzbekistan and why Uzbekistan is opening to the world and wants to present its reform program.
00:47We are living in a globalizing world where the transnational factors are playing an increasingly important role. Any particular country, even the big powers, cannot resolve issues of modern world alone. We need to cooperate.
01:03Another question discussed the future of sustainable investments. Foreign investment in Uzbekistan has increased tenfold over the past years, a surge propelled by comprehensive government reforms initiated in 2017. The objective now is to garner even greater interest.
01:26Uzbekistan wants to become upper middle income country by 2030. In 2017, when we started our reforms, our gross domestic product was about 52 billion US dollars. During this short time period, we doubled the gross domestic product. In order to increase this gross domestic product, furthermore, investments in more productive areas are very important.
01:49These international initiatives are very important to communicate with the investors and what we have done in Uzbekistan.
01:57Tourism is one of the promising sectors of Uzbekistan's economy and participants of the partnership initiatives week in Tashkent discussed its green and sustainable future.
02:07Uzbekistan has been the leading country that pushed for 2027 to be the international year of sustainable and resilient tourism. Sustainability encompasses three key factors, the socio-economic, the environmental and the economics. Uzbekistan has been really proving and taking the lead on that front.
02:27To build the future, you need to know your past. This was one of the messages from another large-scale event here in Tashkent that highlighted the cultural heritage of Uzbekistan.
02:41International Heritage Week in Tashkent brought together participants from various countries. One of the events, the inauguration of an exhibition of rare ancient coins, took place in the State Museum of the Timurid history.
03:11The center of Islamic civilization is currently under construction in Tashkent. Over 100 projects proposed by scholars from more than 25 countries will be incorporated into this cultural and scientific hub.
03:41The president of our country, Mirzaev, announced the creation of this center at the 72nd session of the UN General Assembly.
03:50He called on the international community to fight against ignorance through education. In fact, our center is a large-scale cultural and educational mega-platform, whose task is to bring to the international community the true, humane, tolerant, peaceful essence of the religion of Islam and to study, preserve and popularize the cultural heritage of Uzbekistan.
04:151001 Foundation organization aims to bring to life stories of the great scientists and rulers of this land.
04:45This is not just about telling the story of the past, but showing how it contributes to our lives today.
