00:23House Speaker Martin Romualdez led the launch of the aid for Kapos Angkita Program or ACAP Mall Tour in Metro Manila.

00:3353,000 mall and tenant employees were benefited from the 5,000 pesos cash assistance and free rice worth 268.5 million pesos.

00:46According to Speaker Romualdez, this program is part of the government's efforts to address the effects of inflation or the rapid movement of the price of goods

00:56and to help our fellow countrymen in the midst of Kapos Angkita.

01:00The previous program was Assistance for Individuals in Crisis Situations.

01:07That was for indigents, solo parents, PWDs, senior citizens.

01:12But the coverage is only up to here.

01:16We think that we should include minimum wage earners.

01:21There are jobs for up to 12 million families in the Philippines.

01:28We will include them in this program.

01:30So today, go home and hold on to 5,000 pesos cash.

01:38And BBM said that Filipinos are really hungry.

01:44You still have 5 kilos of premium well-milled rice.

01:49In the plenary session, House Deputy Majority Leader Erwin Tulfo also pushed for the amendment of the Rice Tarification Law

01:57so that our fellow countrymen can benefit from it and the price of rice in the market can be lowered.

02:04By empowering, Mr. Speaker, dear colleagues, the Department of Agriculture to import rice,

02:11we can create a balanced market where prices reflect the needs of consumers and limit undue price increases.

02:22Additionally, it will provide the government with a stronger hand to stabilize prices,

02:29competing with the private sector while ensuring that ordinary citizens,
