00:00Who is the target?
00:04My clients want to know if it's feasible.
00:07Will it cost them?
00:09100 million is a lot.
00:11You pay me to kill you.
00:19I ask you for the money to make the deal.
00:30Good and evil. They are loving parents and partners but morally questionable in their work.
00:38In your point of view, are your characters mirror of society?
00:43Is the line between good and evil blurred nowadays?
00:49It's a beautiful question and I think it is.
00:52It is. I think that one of the things, the differentiation between the original movie and book and this is
00:59in the original movie the jackal very much represents bad and the target is good and the detective is good.
01:08Here, I feel like our writer is really investigating things not being binary, being about, there being a spectrum.
01:15All of us have darkness in us, particularly nowadays with social media where you can disappear into anonymity.
01:23I think that we are seeing that sort of animalistic quality of people's darkness even if they are pleasant on the surface.
01:33And I think that is part of what the series is trying to do.
01:36It just represents the real world as well.
01:39I think that we all have different capabilities and have different experiences that make us want to go left or right.
01:47We have two characters here who have had questionable, been under questionable circumstances
01:53and it's led them to make decisions that they maybe didn't want to but it's for the sake of their family
01:59or it's for the sake of their sanity sometimes and protection of themselves.
02:03So I really like that we have that conversation about good or evil in the show
02:09because it really is representative of the kinds of conversations that I have with people all the time
02:14where they are just reckoning with themselves and not quite knowing what to do.
02:17I think we explored that in a really nice way.
02:33What are you doing?
02:35If I told you the truth, I would have lost you.
02:37No!
02:41How difficult was it to play the jackal between the prosthetic and the spy lesson?
02:47In your future, do you see the wand of Scamander or the gun of James Bond?
02:53I'm not sure I see either to be fair.
02:56Was it difficult?
02:59It was challenging in the most fulfilling way.
03:03I spoke to Lashana about it.
03:06When you start out acting as a kid, the reason you do it is to play characters far from yourself
03:12to change the way you look, the way you sound, the physicality
03:16and really one of the great appeals for me of this series was that the whole thing felt like an actor's playground.
03:23So it was challenging but it was also, I would say, one of the most fulfilling experiences.
03:31Do you really think we should let you lose? I'm not willing to give up everything.
03:43There is a limit to what I can do to protect you.
03:46I swear I'll find him and I swear I'll kill him with my own hands.
03:50You are familiar with agent secrets. Would you be ready to be a new leading Bond?
04:00I think the question is more if the world is ready to see a female Bond.
04:06I think that's a big conversation that has happened but hasn't continued.
04:14I personally don't know and I say that openly because it's a franchise and it's successful
04:23and it has its beauty and its structure and I do think that original fans of every film from Doctor No onwards
04:33they want to see what they love to see and I think that if we go too far out of that
04:39there's a danger of the fans getting quite confused as to what's happening.
04:44But also stretching the parameters and really representing people of today
04:49and really changing things up would be really exciting.
04:53So I think it could go either way but I'm interested to see if that conversation still happens.
04:59The fact that you're asking is a big thing.
05:09I just want to know who you are.
