00:00I, oh my, the Detroit Lions just keep getting the job done.
00:057-1, unbeaten on the road.
00:08They won outside.
00:10No dome, no problem.
00:12Oh, their offense actually didn't look that good, but that's okay.
00:16That's not really the point with the Lions.
00:17It's all about the fact that they're in a 7-1 and that Donnie has some
00:21NFC futures on him, so he might as well be a Lions fan.
00:24So, Donnie, I'll allow you to start.
00:26They go to play the Houston Texans, who are unbeaten at home so far this season.
00:31They do so as 3.5-point favorites.
00:34What do you expect?
00:35Easy.
00:36Easy, Joe.
00:37Easy, Joe.
00:38Easy.
00:39Press the button there.
00:40Minus 3.5 should be 6.5.
00:41Alt it up, please, Joe.
00:42It says 9.5 in this game.
00:43Why?
00:44Because the Detroit Lions are coming for souls today.
00:45People, absolutely.
00:46But also, I love C.J. Stroup.
00:48Told you at the beginning of the season.
00:49Thought this team was going to win the division.
00:50I still think that's going to be the same.
00:52However, things do change.
00:53Nico Collins is going to come back today.
00:55Hamstring injury?
00:56Probably not.
00:57Take a look at Tank Dell.
00:58Oh, no, what's my back hurting today?
00:59Probably not in there.
01:00Will Anderson, hey, could use him to rush the pass rusher, rush the quarterback.
01:03He's not there either.
01:04Now, again, sometimes I'm facetious by saying it's easy, but there's no way, shape, or form.
01:08Look at me right here, that we're taking the Houston Texans, Detroit all the way by a touchdown.
01:13I like Houston in this matchup.
01:15I think it's a bounce-back spot.
01:16This is where we disagree.
01:17Now, the numbers suggest Detroit's playing and should win this game, right?
01:22They've won six straight.
01:23The numbers are dominant.
01:24They've won the sixth by an average margin, a victory cap of 18 points per game.
01:28To your point, they are 7-1 on the year, undefeated on the road, but on the flip side, you have Houston.
01:34That's 4-0 at home.
01:35They haven't covered numbers.
01:36They've looked a little bit inconsistent, but I think it's a bounce-back spot for C.J. Stroud in that offense.
01:42Look for Dalton Schultz to get involved.
01:44Look for Joe Mixon as well, not just in terms of the ground, but the receiving game as well.
01:49And I think they pull off the upset.
01:51Not going to be easy, but I believe Yamiko Ryans and C.J. Stroud, in this particular spot,
01:57with back-to-back role games, prime time, give me the Texans outright.
02:01I think it's a great spot to bet the Texans, and that's exactly what I'm going to do at 3-1 at home.
02:06At the end of the day, I know, first of all, I know this will never apply to you,
02:09because a team has to catch double digits for you to think that they could cover in a loss.
02:15Correct.
02:16I've never believed that, and I very much think Detroit could win this game by 3, quite frankly.
02:21The Texans are unbeaten so far at home.
02:23Now, they've not been dominant at home.
02:25They don't win these home games by—I think their biggest home win this season was by 6,
02:30laying 6 to the Chicago Bears on that Sunday night.
02:34But I do think getting Nico Collins back, because I think he's going to play Donnie off of the IR stint,
02:39is certainly a boost.
02:41Detroit is also kind of banged up coming into the game.
02:45A lot of defensive guys on this injury report, and they add Taylor Decker to the mix,
02:50where if all of a sudden that offensive line leaks a little bit,
02:52it could make up for the fact that Houston is going to be without Will Anderson in this game,
02:57which is certainly a blow.
02:59It's also just for me a bet on C.J. Stroud, who I think has proven to be one of your,
03:05let's call it 10 best quarterbacks in football, and is in line to have himself a really good game,
03:11because Stroud has now battled with some inconsistency the last few weeks.
03:15Some of it's been situational, but he's only thrown for over 200 yards once within his last four games.
03:21And again, at home, I expect better from C.J., his best target in Nico Collins in the offense here.
03:28I think the Texans can do certainly enough to stay within a field goal at home in a game against the Lions.
03:36Yeah, we'll see also, because Nico Collins, I think, is a game-time decision.
03:39So if you're taking a look at the Houston offense, which, again, coming into the season, I absolutely love.
03:42No Stephon Diggs, no Tank Dell, possibly no Nico Collins could be a formality.
03:46And also, if you are a game-time decision, what does that actually mean for your game play
03:49and your snap count at that point?
03:51Nico Collins is fantastic, a top-five wide receiver, which when he does get back healthy,
03:55that Texans offense is going to move.
03:57And also keep in mind, Jamison Williams back here for the Detroit Lions.
04:00Now you have that deep play threat on one side, Aminarah St. Brown on the other,
04:03tight ends, best offensive line in football, two dominant running backs,
04:06which, again, legitimate chances for them to score touchdowns.
04:09I just think Detroit is too much on offense tonight for the Houston Texans.
04:13That's why I'm picking them.
04:14Yeah, I like the over, too, though.
04:15If I'm back in Houston, I'm also backing the over.
04:18And to Donny's point, Jordan Love did throw in the second half of that matchup for 273.
04:23That was a wet track.
04:24We saw Jayden Reed over 110 yards in that matchup.
04:28So that could do well for Nico Collins, especially in this matchup in terms of the cornerbacks that he'll face.
04:35I think C.J. Stroud's going to chuck it.
04:37I think he throws it between 35 and 40 times in this matchup, maybe 45.
04:43I don't think Mixon will be as dominant on the ground against that front seven.
04:47They throw it more spread amount, and then you can run it in the second half.
04:50Real quick point on that, too.
04:51You know, sometimes I can get down on the underdog plays for me.
04:53If Mixon does not hit his number on the ground,
04:56and if Mixon does not score a touchdown not winning that game,
04:58I would be betting Joe Mixon as opposed to betting Houston for me.
05:01All right, we'll see if it plays out that way.
05:03I think Stroud has to step up in this spot.
05:05We'll see if he's able to do that.
