Joe Buck previews Newcastle United's clash with Nottingham Forest at the City Ground in the Premier League.
Transcript
00:00So, for the second time this season, Newcastle United are at the city ground in what will
00:05be a really hotly anticipated match. Obviously, Nottingham Forest come into the game third
00:08in the table, Newcastle United in 12th, but lots can change today. If Newcastle United
00:13win, they go one point behind Forest in the league table, so it's set up to be a really
00:17good game here. Obviously, Nottingham Forest are one of the informed teams, lots of informed
00:21players including Chris Wood and Elliot Anderson. Both we expect to probably feature today against
00:25their old club, so Newcastle will have to be wary of their threat. But of course, Nottingham
00:28Forest will be wary of Newcastle. They beat Chelsea in the cup and then beat Arsenal last
00:33week and Eddie Howe's shift to have Joe Linton on the left, Joe Willock in there, has really
00:37paid dividends and it'll be interesting to see what he does today. I think you could
00:40see last week that maybe Sandro Tonali had played two games, so you could see why he
00:44was not picked for that game against Arsenal and whether Eddie Howe sticks to a winning
00:48team or whether he goes to put Tonali back in there. But if he does do that, does that
00:52disrupt the balance in midfield? So, plenty of things for Eddie Howe to consider today.
00:56In what could be a really good match, I think Newcastle have struggled on their travels
00:59sort of for the last season and a bit, certainly in this calendar year. They'll be really hoping
01:03for a big statement win here. They've got a good record here, they've won the last two.
01:06Everyone remembers Alexander Isak's late penalty that really helped them on their way to Champions
01:10League football two years ago and then last year, a Bruno double really, you know, really
01:14knighted their season to the point where it looked like they were drifting away. But,
01:17as I said, it'll be, it's a different game, it's a different Nottingham Forest team and
01:20Nuno's, Espirito Santo's side are really good, so Newcastle will have to be wary. They can't
01:25think just because they've beat Arsenal, they've beat Chelsea, that the tests don't
01:28keep coming strong because it is going to be a big challenge today and one that, as
01:32I said, it can be a real statement win if Newcastle do go and get a win. Even a point
01:35is not a bad result, but you'd like to think they can get a win. They've already beat them
01:38here in the Carabao Cup, albeit on penalties, so they'll know what they're coming up against.
01:42They've played them, as I said, already this year at City Grand, they've played them in
01:47February, but they are, as I said, Nottingham Forest are a different team. So, yeah, it's
01:50going to be a brilliant match here, hopefully a really exciting one and one that Newcastle,
01:53if they can win, will really help them going into that international break with a lot of
01:56momentum and a lot of belief that they can do something this year and maybe challenge
01:59for European places.
