00:24Please be ready at 8am sharp with your belongings.
00:27Our executive slave catchers pick you up in a brown van. Be prepared to be searched once you've entered the plantation.
00:33You are in plantation group 7.
00:35Arletta McCall, the mother of a University of Alabama student who received one of these messages, said,
00:40It's eerie that it's the day after the election.
00:42It's eerie that it came to my daughter's personal phone.
00:45It's eerie that it's only going to black students.
00:48According to the EAP, some of these messages were even sent to middle school age children.
00:52NAACP President and CEO Derek Johnson issued a statement on the messages.
00:57He said,
00:57Quote,
00:58These messages represent an alarming increase in vile and abhorrent rhetoric from racist groups across the country,
01:04who now feel emboldened to spread hate and stoke the flames of fear that many of us are feeling after Tuesday's election results.
01:10Freedom is on the horizon, and we won't be fear-mongered out of the future we deserve.
