Love Begins (2011) is a romantic drama and the prequel to the Love Comes Softly film series, based on the best-selling books by Janette Oke. Directed by David S. Cass Sr., it is set in the 19th-century American frontier and follows the early story of Clark Davis, the character who becomes the patriarch of the series.

In this installment, Clark Davis (played by Wes Brown) is a young man dreaming of building a new life. However, after getting involved in a brawl, he is sentenced to work on Ellen and Cassie Barlow's farm to pay off his debt. Over time, Clark forms a bond with Ellen Barlow (Julie Mond), sparking a tender romance. The film explores themes of forgiveness, love, and the trials of pioneer life.
