00:00This October, American rock band LAMY charmed the hearts of Filipinos with their 4-day A
00:05Beautiful Blur Tour in the country in Bulacan and Cebu.
00:09Their visit to the Philippines was made special with the amazing performance of Texas-based
00:14band Culture Wars, who ignited the energy of fans before the start of every show.
00:20But how exactly did Culture Wars end up playing for one of the biggest bands today?
00:25And what are their plans now that they are continuously thriving in the music industry?
00:30Know more about Culture Wars in this episode of Kapuso Insider.
00:43On October 12 to 15, Culture Wars showed why they are the next band to watch for, after
00:48they opened for LAMY's A Beautiful Blur in the Philippines.
00:52In an exclusive interview with GMA Network, Culture Wars shared the story behind their
00:57collaboration with LAMY and their reaction when the band agreed to it.
01:21I wouldn't think, I mean, you know, so I think we're all just kind of living out a dream
01:25here and very gracious to them for, for making it happen and allowing us to be here.
01:32It's like, I mean, for sure, I think it's also just like, all we ever want is, is the
01:37opportunity to show what we work so hard for.
01:41So I think anytime someone gives us an opportunity like that, it's like, not only do we want
01:45to prove to ourselves that we're like thankful, but we want to prove to the people that give
01:50us those opportunities, like, like we're not just like wasting opportunities, you know,
01:56we're like very thankful, taking it very seriously and putting one foot for the other.
02:01So I think there's like pressure, but it's kind of like we're, we all work so hard that
02:07it's like, it doesn't, it doesn't feel like, oh, are we going to be able to do it?
02:10It's more like, yes, cool.
02:12We're locked in.
02:13Like, we're doing this finally.
02:15Aside from doing shows across the globe, Culture Wars is also busy gearing up for its debut
02:20album.
02:21They also shared a little story about their newest single, It Hurts, which they performed
02:26at the beginning of their segments in every Lainey tour.
02:29Well, we started the show with it, and it's one of our favorite ones to play.
02:32I think it starts the show out on the right foot.
02:36Yeah, it was, weirdly, it was the last one that we did for the album.
02:40It wasn't even really going to be on there, to be honest.
02:43We were like, oh, we're done, and we closed the door.
02:48And being annoying like I am, I was like, oh, I'm just going to keep track of all my
02:52stuff anyway.
02:53And then, you know, finished it, and here we are.
02:57You know, and then I was like, all right, we'll go back to the studio and record.
03:01Like, you know, but I think we're all happy we did it because it's been worth it.
03:06It's, I think, another, another piece of the puzzle that is the album that kind of builds
03:11this very whole picture.
03:14Being a very dedicated and diverse group, Culture Wars admitted to facing creative differences
03:19when making new songs.
03:21But how do they face and resolve this issue?
03:23All the time, but that's kind of the point.
03:25I think, like, just personally, like, if I wanted a bunch of people to just agree with
03:31me all the time, I would just be by myself, right?
03:33Like, that's the point of being a band, is finding that common ground.
03:38And it's always challenging.
03:39That's why we're here, you know, to just do it together.
03:43So, yeah.
03:45I think it's really hard to find a group of people where you can, like, go to battle with
03:51those ideas with each other and still come out as close as we are because those musical
03:56ideas are very personal.
03:58And if you can, like, kind of keep your feelings right a little bit, but still, like, love
04:03each other, you know, that's very, we're, you know, brothers through that process, for
04:07sure.
04:08Now that Culture Wars is slowly climbing up the charts, going inside the music scene,
04:13what can fans expect from the Texan band?
04:16World domination.
04:17No, yeah, do some next week.
04:21New album, top of the year in 2025.
04:24Come to Australia after this tour with Lainey and actively planning to come back here as
04:31soon as we possibly can.
04:33It's like the conversation we had with our team this week left a couple days ago, so
04:39we're definitely planning on coming back and rolling out this album.
04:44This is our first album, and here do we get.
