00:00Jade McMillan is standing by in Palm Beach, Florida, at the Trump headquarters. Jade,
00:07the first lot of exit polls have come out. What are they telling us?
00:10Yeah, these exit polls are basically surveys that are taken of voters after they have cast
00:17their ballots. They can provide some insights into the mood of the electorate, the issues
00:22that are most important to people and the demographics, the people that are actually
00:26turning out at the ballot box. What we've learned so far from the Associated Press,
00:31this was a survey of about 110,000 people, was that the economy was the number one issue.
00:37That is not a surprise. Just like in Australia, the cost of living, historically high inflation
00:42has been a huge issue for so many people here. It also shows that immigration and abortion
00:49are very important. Donald Trump has campaigned extensively on immigration. Kamala Harris
00:55has made abortion, reproductive rights more generally, really central to her campaign.
01:00Still a lot to learn from these exit polls, but a glimpse at least at this stage as to
01:06the issues that have been driving people out.
01:09Jade, you're with the Trump campaign. What's happening there?
01:16This is one of the election watch parties that are taking place. We've seen a lot of
01:20Donald Trump supporters arriving, also his running mate, J.D. Vance. This getting underway
01:26behind me now, still no word at this stage when the former president might appear.
