Quite a few legacy-quels have hit the Disney+ platform in the past couple of months. The TV schedule has been especially active in this field, as two fan-favorite franchises have been revived through limited series: The Santa Clauses and now Willow. While creators Jon Kasdan and Michelle Rejwan are proud of their place in the streaming lineup, it seems that they have ambitions of bringing this long-dormant world back to theaters.

00:00We're big advocates of that and one thing that I think we're both fantasizing about
00:05as the future of this whole business we're in, is that maybe there's the possibility
00:10that the train can go the other way a little bit and sometimes these series can culminate
00:15in theatrical experiences that you need to see in a theater.
00:20I think, you know, Benioff and Weiss wanted that with Game of Thrones.
00:24I think there's lots of opportunity to do that and we'd love to see that happen.
00:28I think Disney would, too, ultimately.
00:30There's so many cool new storytelling possibilities out there, so it's been, we feel very lucky
00:36that we got to do this as a series, in fact.
00:39Yeah.
00:40Right?
00:41I mean, there's just so many more creative opportunities that afforded us over the eight
00:45chapters and just incredible imaginative, like endlessly imaginative ideas that come
00:51out of my friend John here that we got to do in just one season.
00:56So it's pretty cool to, you know, we're doing that right now.
00:58You know, both Michelle and I come from the movies, so like, you know, I'm counting the
01:02days until Avatar comes out.
01:04I'm a devotee of the cineplex and Willow for me was, you know, it was a very formative
01:10movie-going experience because it was so big and so epic.
