00:00How did it happen?
00:04I stabbed her.
00:19And I knew I was gonna kill her.
00:21You know...
00:23I was honest with myself for the first time.
00:31Yeah, but it's gonna be a problem, right?
00:34It's gonna be a problem.
00:37And you're gonna die.
01:00I did not shoot anybody.
01:24And I would not hurt anybody.
01:27And that's the truth.
01:31Appropriate adult.
01:33I don't know how long, but it was quick.
01:35You know, it was real quick.
01:36Because it's surprising how long you can hold somebody.
02:00And I cut her legs off, and...
02:24I mean, that was...
02:27Unbearable.
02:31Mr. Oskerson wants to see me.
02:34He told me I don't have to talk to you if I don't wanna.
02:37He's right, you don't.
02:39You don't have to talk to me.
02:41And if you do talk, nothing you say can be used outside this room.
03:00In a popular and innovative film in 1968.
03:03Although it was criticized for its many inaccuracies,
03:06it was also praised as a cinematographic work.
03:09And that extends to Curtis's interpretation,
03:11who offers us flashes of the fragmented psyche of DeSalvo
03:15through powerful monologues and disturbing silences.
03:19His intense commitment to the role
03:21adds layers to what could have been a one-dimensional character.
03:26Naturally, he was nominated for a Golden Globe for his efforts.
03:47Although short-lived, this Netflix drama
03:49gave us many exceptional representations of serial killers.
03:54And believe us, we'll get to that.
03:56The first is Sonny Balicenti as Dennis Rader,
03:59better known as BTK.
04:01Unlike other serial killers,
04:03he was not given an interview sequence that allowed the actor
04:07to use a hypnotizing dialogue.
04:09But his discreet interpretation is no less impressive.
04:13And his unbreakable silence says it all.
04:16It represents the typical killer with amazing precision.
04:19And his silence and clumsy gestures
04:21give us a clue that something smells rotten in the state of Kansas.
04:42Although Kit's character is fictitious,
04:44it is based on a man named Charles Starkweather
04:47who killed 11 people in just under two months.
04:50In most of his crimes, he was accompanied by his young girlfriend,
04:54Carol Ann Fugate,
04:55and both became national villains.
04:58His brutal story is vaguely told in the film,
05:01which stands out for being the debut as director of Terrence Malick.
05:05Kit is played by a young Martin Shin,
05:07who captures the cold blood of the character
05:10along with the dark charm that allowed him to manipulate his girlfriend.
05:14The angry way he commits the murders
05:17adds a disturbing normality to his twisted romance.
05:20And Shin is great, gradually revealing Kit's inner psychopathy.
05:26Of course, Holly and I have had fun, even if it has been rushed.
05:30And, uh...
05:32So far, we're doing fine.
05:34Hadn't got caught.
05:42Is that it? All of it?
05:44Swear on Satan!
05:45The ninth season of American Horror Story
05:48was heavily influenced by the classic slasher movies of the 70s and 80s.
05:53It's a summer camp with some ruthless murderers.
05:56These characters are fictitious,
05:58but among them is the night stalker Richard Ramirez.
06:03The season in which the drama is fictitious with the story,
06:06and Villa adds the right intensity and fanfare
06:09for the well-known image of Ramirez.
06:12It also offers terrifying moments that show how crazy he thought he was,
06:16because he had neither compassion nor human decency.
06:19He was a real monster,
06:21and Villa perfectly portrayed his exquisite tendencies.
06:35Number 14.
06:36Daniel Henshaw as John Bunting.
06:44The murders of Snowtown are one of the most notorious crimes in Australian history,
06:48in which corpses were found inside barrels
06:51in the vault of an abandoned bank in Snowtown.
06:54Twelve people died between 1992 and 1999,
06:59and the crimes managed to be traced
07:01to a small band led by John Bunting.
07:04In this 2011 film,
07:06it is perfectly played by Daniel Henshaw,
07:09who won the first award for Best Actor.
07:12It's not easy to see,
07:14since Henshaw shows himself to be totally psychotic and manipulative
07:17as the leader of the murderous band.
07:19He gives us a great vision of his twisted psyche,
07:22and the actor is more than up to his various complexities and motivations.
07:35Number 13.
07:36Richard Attenborough as John Christie.
07:44The taking of life,
07:47no matter how rudimentary.
07:49John Christie is an infamous name in British history
07:52for having murdered eight people in his apartment in Notting Hill,
07:56and having kept his corpses in various places in the house.
07:59The direction was Rillington Place No. 10,
08:02the name of the 1971 film that dramatizes his crimes.
08:06The legendary Richard Attenborough
08:08plays Christie with a disturbing calm.
08:11His mastery lies in his subtle expressions
08:14and his calm delivery.
08:16He does not need to resort to exaggerated villainy to evoke anxiety.
08:20Sometimes all you need is a creepy look
08:23or a subtly threatening phrase.
08:26And Attenborough achieves it fully,
08:29flooding the film with an unbearable feeling of terror.
08:38Number 12.
08:39Oliver Cooper as David Berkowitz.
08:42Mindhunter.
08:53Although he only appeared in one episode,
08:55Oliver Cooper left a good impression playing Sam's son.
08:59His real name was David Berkowitz,
09:01and he terrorized the city of New York in the mid-1970s,
09:05killing six people and hurting many more
09:08with his Bulldog 44 revolver.
09:11He was finally captured and sent to prison,
09:13which is where FBI agents Holden and Bill
09:16find him in the second season.
09:19Cooper is magnificent as the killer,
09:21as he manages to capture the creepy gestures of Berkowitz
09:24and his disturbing confidence.
09:27He is also great showing his manipulative attitude,
09:29and ends up admitting that he invented the story
09:31that he heard a demon,
09:33because he just wanted to kill people.
09:35Cooper manages to reach the hidden depths
09:38of Berkowitz's terrifying psychology.
09:46Number 11.
09:47David Tennant as Dennis Nilsen.
09:49Death.
09:58Many people know David Tennant as the nice 10th Doctor,
10:02but this role could not be further from this one.
10:05Here he plays Dennis Nilsen,
10:07a Scottish serial killer who killed at least 12 people
10:10between 1978 and 1983.
10:14He transforms into Nilsen with a disturbing ease,
10:17offering an interpretation full of nuances
10:19that captures both his banality and his evil.
10:22His ability to go from mundane to threatening
10:25shows the remarkable versatility of the actor,
10:28and his amazing interpretation
10:30earned him the Emmy Award for Best Actor.
10:42Number 10.
10:43Zac Efron as Ted Bundy.
10:45Extremely wicked, shockingly evil and vile.
10:56Speaking of breaking locks,
10:58what do you think of Zac Efron as Ted Bundy?
11:00The man with a child's face achieved immense popularity
11:03with the movies of High School Musical,
11:05but here he gets rid of that charm
11:08and gets into the mind and body of a famous serial killer.
11:12Efron captures the manipulative and superficial charm of Bundy
11:15with incredible precision,
11:17but he is also able to reveal the evil that makes him
11:20one of the most infamous killers in the history of the United States.
11:24He was always a very difficult person to understand,
11:27and Efron skillfully portrays his complexities,
11:29allowing us to see both the attractive man
11:32and the monster that hides below.
11:42Number 9.
11:43Katie Bates as Delphine LaLaurie.
11:53We return to this wonderful mixture of drama and history
11:56that makes American Horror Story
11:58so endlessly attractive.
12:00The third season takes place in New Orleans,
12:02and is starred by Katie Bates
12:04in the role of Delphine LaLaurie,
12:06a woman from the high society
12:08who is believed to have abused and killed people at her service.
12:11Bates demonstrated with Misery
12:13that she could interpret a psychopath,
12:15and returns to that mold by portraying
12:17the historical serial killer.
12:19Her mastery of conflicting personalities is praiseworthy,
12:22often masking the sadistic nature of LaLaurie
12:25with that always charming southern hospitality.
12:29Whether with perversely acute dialogues
12:32or dealing with the historical atrocities of the character,
12:35she makes sure that each moment is intense.
12:48Number 8.
12:49Damon Herriman as Charles Nansen, Mindhunter.
12:57There are perfect delivery choices,
12:59and others that seem like blessings
13:01from the gods of television.
13:03Damon Herriman as Charles Nansen
13:05was one of the latter.
13:07It is difficult to differentiate him
13:09from the real serial killer
13:11when he is working,
13:13and if you put the two next to each other
13:15it would cost you to guess which is which.
13:17Of course, the hair and makeup department
13:19deserves all the recognition,
13:21but Herriman's interpretation
13:23is simply from another world,
13:25since it captures every little nuance
13:27and manierism of the infamous killer.
13:29See it in Mindhunter,
13:31and then as the clumsy Dewey Crow
13:33in Justified
13:35to understand how extraordinary it is.
13:44Number 7.
13:45Brian Denehy as John Wayne Gacy,
13:47To Catch a Killer.
13:55Not many people have heard of this movie
13:57for television,
13:59you can see it only by Brian Denehy.
14:01He plays John Wayne Gacy,
14:03one of the most famous killers
14:05in the United States,
14:07and responsible for at least 33 murders.
14:09Gacy is famous not because he ended
14:11so many lives,
14:13but because he was hiding in plain sight,
14:15as a productive member of the society
14:17that was even close
14:19to the first lady of the United States.
14:21The actor perfectly captures
14:23all the nuances of Gacy,
14:25both his charming appearance as a good boy,
14:27and his characteristic malevolence
14:29that hides under the surface.
14:31It is not surprising that he received
14:33an Emmy nomination for his performance.
14:35It's brilliant.
14:47Number 6.
14:49Darren Criss as Andrew Conanan,
14:51The Assassination of Janie Versace,
14:53American Crime Story.
14:57Andrew!
14:59Guess, you have to guess.
15:03Janie Versace.
15:05Darren Criss had a monumental task
15:07when playing the sluggish Andrew Conanan,
15:09which was very difficult
15:11because no one really knew him.
15:13He was a master of manipulation,
15:15the kind of person who reads someone
15:17and shows them what they want to see
15:19instead of what it really is.
15:21To this day, no one knows why he killed Janie Versace.
15:23Despite all these questions,
15:25Criss was up to the task,
15:27embodying with mastery
15:29the different masks and characters of Conanan.
15:31Seeing him go from one way to another
15:33is absolutely fascinating,
15:35and it is not surprising that he took the Emmy
15:37to Best Main Actor
15:39in a limited series.
15:49Number 5.
15:51Paul Walter Hauser as Larry Hull,
15:53Blackbird.
16:01Not much is known about Larry Hull,
16:03alleged serial killer
16:05addicted to the civil war
16:07that traveled throughout the country
16:09to make recreations.
16:11Although he withdrew from all his confessions,
16:13researchers believe he killed up to 50 women,
16:15which would make him
16:17one of the most prolific killers
16:19in the history of the United States.
16:21The actor from Apple TV, Blackbird,
16:23is played by an extraordinary
16:25Paul Walter Hauser,
16:27with curly hair, a whispering voice
16:29and an incredible beard.
16:31He looks literal and figuratively
16:33unrecognizable embodying Larry Hull,
16:35his malice and ambiguity.
16:37He won the Emmy for Best Secondary Actor,
16:39surpassing interpreters of the size
16:41of Richard Jenkins, Ray Liotta
16:43and Jesse Plemons.
16:51Number 4.
16:53Michael Rooker as Henry,
16:55Portrait of a Serial Killer.
17:05Michael Rooker
17:07has enjoyed a long and illustrious
17:09career, now known for
17:11The Walking Dead and the Guardians of the Galaxy movies.
17:13But long before
17:15he put on a white shirt without sleeves
17:17to play the killer in the Henry series,
17:19vaguely based on Henry Lee Lucas
17:21who confessed hundreds of murders
17:23but probably only committed
17:25three. This controversial movie
17:27is more inspired by the legend
17:29than the person, and Rooker plays
17:31one of the most ruthless and bloodthirsty
17:33psychopaths in the history of cinema.
17:35The production has aroused controversy
17:37for a long time due to its extreme
17:39violence and disfigured realism,
17:41as Michael's horrifying interpretation
17:43is too realistic to be comfortable.
17:49Say that again.
17:51I'd like to kill somebody.
17:53That's mean you go for a ride, Otis.
17:55Number 3.
17:57Charlize Theron as Eileen Wuornos, Monster.
17:59I'm not a bad person,
18:01I'm a real good person,
18:03right?
18:05One of the most surprising transformations
18:07in the history of cinema is that of Charlize Theron
18:09in the role of Eileen Wuornos.
18:11It's literally unrecognizable,
18:13with a new accent, fake teeth,
18:15no eyebrows and with 14
18:17kilos more. Everything results
18:19in a surprising and convincing
18:21transformation in which
18:23Theron not only plays, but
18:25becomes the serial killer
18:27mentally ill. Although the movie
18:29aroused some controversy for its
18:31so light representation of Wuornos,
18:33it was also universally praised
18:35and won practically all the important awards
18:37in the industry, including
18:39the Oscar. In fact, Roger Ebert
18:41rated it as one of the best
18:43interpretations in the history of cinema,
18:45and this man knew what he was doing.
18:51Number 2.
18:53Cameron Britton as Edmund Kemper, Mindhunter.
19:05Of all the exceptional actors who starred
19:07in Mindhunter, Cameron Britton
19:09was the revelation when he played
19:11the gigantic and mentally ill
19:13Edmund Kemper. He is one of the
19:15most terrifying serial killers in the United States.
19:17An imposing man
19:19of 190 meters in height,
19:21he murdered 10 people,
19:23including his paternal grandparents
19:25and his mother. Britton undoubtedly has
19:27the body for the role, but he is also
19:29a tremendous actor, who moves
19:31with mastery between the indifference
19:33courteous and total madness.
19:35When he speaks, we hear it absurd,
19:37and when he threatens an FBI agent,
19:39we hold our breath,
19:41knowing perfectly well
19:43the scope of his depraved
19:45abilities.

20:09Now, let's go to the end.
20:11Number 1.
20:13Evan Peters as Jeffrey Dahmer.
20:15Dahmer, Monster, The Jeffrey Dahmer Story.
20:29The name Jeffrey Dahmer is synonymous
20:31with evil, and many people have interpreted it
20:33over the years, including
20:35a wonderful stellar performance
20:37by Ross Lynch and my friend Dahmer,
20:39where they narrate their adolescence.
20:41If we want the main experience,
20:43we have to see this popular Netflix drama
20:45and the acclaimed interpretation
20:47of Evan Peters. Thanks to
20:49the perfect imitation of his clumsy
20:51mannerisms and quiet and reserved behavior,
20:53he won a Golden Globe
20:55for his interpretation. When the
20:57moment of violence comes, Peters
20:59does not contain himself, and represents
21:01a despised and desperate man
21:03by blood. The rapid changes
21:05in humor are tremendous, and this actor
21:07is quite capable of portraying
21:09all the facets of the infamous killer.
21:17Can you think of any other good interpretation
21:19of a serial killer?
