00:00È appena ora che la gara si copre e saremo felici di vederla a tutti.
00:08Questo è il momento in cui tutti, tutta la comunità climatica, dovrebbero essere a Baku.
00:12Siamo pronti e ci aspettiamo a benvenere tutti a Baku.
01:24...as well as testing and commissioning of all the IT equipment,
01:27AV equipment, and power sockets,
01:30and all these things obviously,
01:32but we are pretty much there.
01:35Over 40.000 registered delegates will be here over the two weeks,
01:39as well as 100 presidents, prime ministers and heads of state.
01:44There are two zones, the blue zone,
01:46which is managed by the UNFCCC,
01:49and the green zone, which is managed by the Presidency
01:52and, of course, is open to the public.
01:55Baku is no stranger to global gatherings,
01:58having hosted the Olympics, Eurovision and Formula One.
02:01With any international event, though,
02:03comes a strategic operational and logistics plan of action.
02:07We have to have a very sophisticated crowd management plan in place,
02:12and there will be an increase in the traffic intensity in Baku,
02:19and, as you can see, today we are filming
02:23in the Intelligent Traffic Management Center.
02:26We'll be directly involved in the traffic management process.
02:30Also, we have to be prepared for any emergency events.
02:35We have special mobile units in place for this purpose.
02:40And safety of high-level visitors, as well as the public,
02:43is a top priority for Azerbaijan authorities.
02:46We are putting necessary safety measures in place.
02:49We have increased police personnel
02:51and we are using technology provided by the smart city camera system
02:56to make sure that everything is safe and secure.
02:59Travel and tourism contributes €9.1 trillion to global GDP.
03:04COP29 is an opportunity for Azerbaijan to capitalize on the sector's potential.
03:09As we can see, a lot of examples from the world
03:13that a lot of countries are shifting their economy towards the tourism sector.
03:18They are spending their capital, which was gained from the different sectors,
03:22into the tourism sector.
03:24And I will say that Azerbaijan is one of those countries.
03:28We have huge tourism potential in terms of culture, gastronomy, natural tourism.
03:33And, as well, we can get the example of COP29.
03:37We have a lot of interest in investing in the maize sector.
03:42COP will aim to stimulate economic growth,
03:45as well as seeing businesses commit to embracing more green transitions.
03:49When we speak about the green transition,
03:51we speak about the new types of economy overall.
03:54So the role of the private sector in the global climate action is absolutely crucial.
03:58It's so important because the private sector is coming with technologies,
04:01with innovation, with, I don't know, consumer behavior,
04:06so they can influence consumer behavior.
04:09So it's important to engage with the private sector.
04:11The green transition is coming with risks and opportunities.
04:14So it's a very mixed process,
04:17and it's important to have a tailor-made approach to all categories.
04:21The main airport in Baku has reinforced its services
04:24and extra provision of hotel accommodation has been made across the city
04:28as the influx of guests prepare to arrive.
04:31It's a chance for travelers to explore more of the country.
04:34Our country, I think, is a jewel that has not been fully discovered.
04:38There's a lot to see. There's a lot of history. There's a lot of beauty.
04:41There is, you know, you can ski in the winter in the mountains
04:44with nine climatic zones, and you can swim in the summer.
04:48As all eyes look towards Baku, the message is clear
04:51that they're open and ready for COP29 business.
