00:00Thousands of Georgians again protested against election results as opposition leaders vowed to boycott Parliament.
00:10U.S. presidential candidates Donald Trump and Kamala Harris were in Swing State, Pennsylvania,
00:17after a bad joke at a Trump rally threatened to alienate Latin American voters.
00:22Speaking at a Trump rally in New York, comedian Tony Hinchcliffe called Puerto Rico a floating island of garbage,
00:29sparking fury from voters and accusations of racism.
00:32When I was knocking at the doors the other day, I did run into an individual from Puerto Rico
00:37who mentioned this actually made him flip his vote.
00:41It's something that I feel is very important.
00:46You can't disrespect the people who you're asking them to vote for.
00:50The two candidates are competing to win over Puerto Rican communities in Pennsylvania and other Swing States.
00:57Puerto Rico has a big, big issue because we don't know how to recycle.
01:03We don't recycle. We're hiring now neighboring little islands to come and pick up our trash.
01:08Maybe he thought that that's what he was saying.
01:12So the only candidate today in the ballot that represents Latino values is Donald Trump and the Republican Party.
01:20We are family first. We're family oriented.
01:26Pennsylvania is the biggest Swing State in the U.S.
01:29and its 19 electoral votes could be the difference between victory or defeat for either candidate.
01:56While Americans are anxiously awaiting the outcome of this historic presidential race,
02:02Washington is bracing for the worst.
02:05The District of Columbia is preparing for another violent attack on supporters of Donald Trump
02:10should he lose to Kamala Harris.
02:13As you can see behind me, the White House complex is looking like a fortress.
02:17A black metal fence of more than two meters in height has been added to already existing tight security measures.
02:25Federal and local authorities fear scenes reminiscent of the deadly assault on the Capitol on January the 6th, 2021.
02:34On that day, a pro-Trump mob ransacked the halls of Congress as the then president spread lies about his election loss.
02:42And today, again, Trump has already started to question the integrity of the vote before ballots are counted, especially in Georgia.
02:51In that southern state, Republican top election officials and the courts have debunked claims of fraud,
02:58but that hasn't stopped Trump from repeating them, resulting in an atmosphere of suspicion and anxiety.
03:05Will the election be peaceful? America is holding its breath.

03:15The hearings to confirm nominees for EU commissioners have begun.
03:21The first two candidates, the veteran Maros Cevcovic, Commissioner for Trade and Economic Security,
03:28and the youngest, Glenn Mikhalev, Commissioner for Intergenerational Justice, were screened in Brussels on Monday.
03:36The Slovak Cevcovic, who has been in office since 2009, spoke against trade wars and defended his position strongly.
03:45Clashes with China and the Mercosur agreement were the focus of the three-hour hearing.
03:52And I will never sign off on a deal that is not in the EU's collective interest.
04:01Despite being criticized for his lack of experience, Malta's Glenn Mikhalev seems to convince MEPs.
04:09Young people are underrepresented in politics, and they are less likely to vote.
04:18This can lead to policies that disregard their interests and concerns.
04:23This is why it is essential, it's essential to engage youth, to ensure fair political participation and representation.
04:34The hearings will end next Tuesday with the questioning of nominees for European Commission Vice Presidents Kaya Kalas and Theresa Ribeiro.
04:47Citizens, volunteers and thousands of soldiers and police officers continued a joint clean-up effort
04:56following devastating floods in eastern Spain that killed over 200 people.
05:01Throughout the town of Aldaya, near Valencia, volunteers set up medical and food distribution points.
05:08But many people feel abandoned by authorities.
05:12No, no, here there was a whole street full of cars, and here nobody.
05:18The only thing is that we, all the neighbours here, have understood very well, we have organised very well
05:26and we have been cleaning, and that is why it is like this, because we have done it.
05:31We set up a table making coffee for the people who came to clean,
05:38and we have set up a point where the food comes from.
05:44Spain is used to autumn storms that can lead to flooding,
05:47but the latest ones have produced the deadliest flooding in living memory for Spaniards.
05:53The situation in large parts of Valencia remains dramatic.
05:5790 kilometres of regional railway line were destroyed by the floods.
06:01It will take months to get back to normal.
06:09Thousands of Georgian opposition supporters gathered in Tbilisi for a second time on Monday
06:16to protest the election result they say was rigged.
06:20The ruling Georgian Dream Party was declared the winner on 26 October
06:25amid allegations of vote rigging helped by Russia.
06:29The protesters waved Georgian and European flags demanding new parliamentary elections
06:35under international supervision and an investigation of the alleged election fraud.
06:42European election observers said they witnessed instances of bribery,
06:46double voting and physical violence.
06:50Opposition leaders vowed to boycott sessions of parliament
06:53and hold regular protests until their demands are met.
06:58The opposition is also urging the West not to recognise the vote
07:02and will gather more evidence of violations to push for a new election.
07:14Sweden has rejected 13 out of 14 planned offshore wind farms in the Baltic Sea, citing security concerns.
07:23Only one new wind farm has been approved, the Poseidon project,
07:27which will have a maximum of 81 turbines.
07:30Poseidon, located on the west coast of the Baltic Sea,
07:34is now allowed to build a wind farm that will contribute to electricity production
07:39of 5.5 terawatt hours per year in electricity price zone 3.
07:44I will tell you more about this wind farm in a moment.
07:47The government has also decided to shut down 13 wind farms in the Baltic Sea
07:53with regard to the fact that the establishment of these would have an unacceptable impact on the interests of the defence.
08:23The EU-Pakistan peace agreement binds Germany, the UK and France through bilateral treaties.
08:28Defence expert Dr Eileen Matley says the timing of signing the pact is no coincidence.
08:34It certainly is another step in order to strengthen the European pillar in NATO.
08:41Other steps have been, for example, the European long-range strike approach,
08:46which focuses on developing and acquiring together, in a sort of European context,
08:51long-range missiles that have become much more vital to the defence,
08:56also the sort of air defence bit of European nations in the wake of
09:01and also the context of Russia's renewed attack on Ukraine.
09:05However, is the treaty enough to strengthen NATO?
09:11I don't think that this agreement alone will be the silver bullet,
09:19saving and helping Europeans to contribute much more to their own defence and to take care of their own defence.
09:26But I think it certainly is a very important step in political terms,
09:32because it sends a message both to domestic audiences,
09:36but even more importantly to other Europeans and also to the US audience.
09:41What is the future of this treaty?
09:46So the only thing I think is important also to bear in mind in this context
09:52is that this agreement is not legally binding yet.
09:55In order to make it legally binding, both countries have announced to come up with an actual treaty
10:03that will then be signed by both heads of state, by German Chancellor Scholz and by Prime Minister Kirstarmer,
10:10which, as far as I know, is supposed to be drawn up earlier next year.
10:17This happens in every election. It's commonplace.
10:21This new pact symbolises a new chapter in European security.
10:26Whatever the outcome in the US election, a stronger, more self-reliant Europe is a necessity.

10:39Palestinian officials say Israeli settlers in the occupied West Bank have attacked their neighbourhoods,
10:45setting cars and property on fire.
10:48Local officials said at least 18 vehicles were burned,
10:51but no one was wounded during the early morning attack in Al-Bireh, a city adjacent to Ramallah.
10:58Israeli police, who handle law enforcement matters involving settlers in the West Bank,
11:03said they were investigating the incident.
11:05Meanwhile, senior officials in the Palestine Foreign Affairs have condemned Israel's ending of the agreement
11:12with a UN agency providing aid in Gaza.
11:15We are deeply concerned by this unlawful decision which revokes the privileges and immunities of UNRWA
11:21and terminates its operation in the occupied state of Palestine.
11:25We consider these laws as illegal, null and void.
11:30Israel says the agency, known as UNRWA, has been infiltrated by Hamas.
11:36UNRWA denies the allegations and says it takes measures to ensure its neutrality.
