00:00It was just so surreal seeing them building the construction on the yard, which is iconic
00:13in itself.
00:14And just being a current student on the university who has so much notable alumni, it's just
00:22honestly I don't believe it.
00:24I see it, but it hasn't hit me yet.
00:27It does have an impact on Howard, all in all, because not only is she black, but she is
00:31a woman from Howard, and so that basically opens up a new road for all the girls that
00:36are trying to aim to do the same thing.
00:44We're going full throttle this week.
00:46Reporters, photographers, videographers, illustrators, everybody is going to be around campus, in
00:53dorms, in spaces where students are to capture the atmosphere and to capture the moment of
00:58this week.
00:59She was a student leader on campus.
01:03She ran for freshman class representative of the Liberal Arts Student Council.
01:08Obviously she joined the AKAs while she was a student here, and they talked about what
01:14she was like.
01:17Our reporting shows that she was very vibrant.
01:20She was well-respected around campus and things of that nature.
01:24Our reporting has shown what people are saying about her and what she was like as a student.
01:29And obviously tomorrow, on election day, we're hoping to bring that all into a neat story
01:36about her time at Howard, the process of running through the presidential election, and then
01:42the results.
