00:00Born out of blood.
00:01They'll never know it.
00:04Because you won't be alive to tell them.
00:07Welcome to WatchMojo.
00:09And today, we're counting down our picks
00:11for the best crafted and most exhilarating action
00:14moments from Marvel films.
00:16Spoilers will follow.
00:19I can't wait to kill one more Spider-Man.
00:22Please, man.
00:24Number 20.
00:26Logan and Wade fight the Deadpool Corps.
00:29Deadpool and Wolverine.
00:31And it feels like home.
00:38Set to Madonna's Like a Prayer, Wade and Logan
00:41tear their way through a horde of Deadpool variants.
00:44Bullets and limbs fly as the action
00:46unfolds in an R-rated one-take.
00:49With 100 Deadpools involved in the mix,
00:51there are, of course, a few laughs thrown in as well.
00:55Ooh.
00:56Come on.
00:57I blew it.
00:58After all that, the only thing you're going to remember
01:00is that god-awful dismount.
01:02The scene is so chaotic that you'll probably
01:05have to go back and re-watch it a few times
01:07to catch every detail.
01:09What really sets it apart is the inclusion of Wolverine's mask.
01:13After years of waiting, fans got to see
01:16Hugh Jackman don the cow.
01:18And its debut was absolutely worth the wait.
01:28Holy shit.
01:34You save the good stuff for special occasions?
01:36Number 19, Spider-Man versus Green Goblin, Spider-Man.
01:51While Deadpool has delivered plenty of violence,
01:54Sam Raimi proved that a PG-13 fight can be just as intense.
01:59In this final battle, Green Goblin
02:01savagely beats Spider-Man with visceral camerawork
02:04and slow-mo to make us feel every hit.
02:12Few scenes capture the raw brutality
02:15that a man with super strength can unleash.
02:17It's not just the Green Goblin we're talking about.
02:19When push comes to shove, Peter fights back and delivers
02:22an equally vicious beatdown.
02:24The fight finally ends when Norman
02:26gets killed by his own glider, a fitting conclusion
02:29to this dark and gritty finale.
02:31Godspeed, Spider-Man.
02:40Oh.
02:44Number 18, spaceship fight, Guardians of the Galaxy.
02:48The stone is in the furthest pod.
02:51Bring it down.
02:52Despite being a relatively obscure Marvel title,
02:56Guardians was a huge hit, in large part
02:58due to a variety of exhilarating and action-packed moments.
03:02However, while the all-out brawl scenes,
03:04such as the prison break, serve to provide viewers
03:07with stimulating visuals, they can never
03:09quite compare to the intimacy of a one-on-one
03:12bout between sisters.
03:14You are a disappointment, sister, out of all our siblings.
03:19I hated you least.
03:21Nebula, please.
03:22If Ronan gets this stone, he'll kill us all.
03:26Opting to settle their sibling rivalry once and for all,
03:29Gamora and Nebula engage in intense, bladed combat
03:32aboard the Dark Aster.
03:33After a hole is blown into the wall of the ship,
03:36Nebula finds herself hanging on for dear life.
03:38But rather than siding with her sister,
03:41she decides to end things her way.
03:44Nebula!
03:46Sister, help us fight Ronan.
03:49You know he's crazy.
03:50I know you're both crazy.
03:55Number 17, Spider-Man takes down the Kingpin.
03:58Spider-Man, into the Spider-Verse.
04:02Nope, sorry, that's cheating.
04:06With the Spider-Gang back in their home dimensions,
04:09Miles is left to fight Wilson Fisk alone.
04:12Fortunately, his newfound confidence
04:14gives him the edge he needs to hold his own.
04:17Their battle is full of swift movement and vibrant colors,
04:21bringing a comic book aesthetic we haven't
04:23seen in other Spider-Man films.
04:25There are even onomatopoeias and impact
04:28frames to punctuate the hits.
04:29I am stopping this right now.
04:35Most of them come from Kingpin at first.
04:38But with a bit of motivation from his family,
04:40Miles lands the final blow, proving that Spider-Man always
04:45gets back up.
04:46Because you know what, no matter how many times I get hit,
04:48I always get back up.
04:53Number 16, Contest of Champions, Thor Ragnarok.
04:57We know each other.
04:58He's a friend from work.
05:00Although the Hulk and Thor have fought before,
05:02their gladiatorial match is the main event.
05:06Forced to fight in the Grandmaster's arena,
05:08Thor tries to get out of it by calming his friend down.
05:11This, of course, hilariously backfires.
05:13Thor then tries to get through to Hulk the old-fashioned way.
05:19I know you're in there, Vano.
05:21I'll get you out.
05:24He's surprisingly able to stand his ground
05:26with an oversized hammer.
05:28But the J-Giant eventually pins him down.
05:31Then, in one of the film's biggest reveals,
05:33Thor summons lightning powers to even the playing field.
05:37Unfortunately, the Grandmaster cuts the game short,
05:40just when things were starting to ramp up.
05:44Number 15, Wolverine vs. Lady Deathstrike,
05:48X2 X-Men United.
05:58Holy shit.
05:59These two-bladed mutants get right to the point.
06:02The X-Men's most fierce combatant meets his match
06:05when pitted against Lady Deathstrike.
06:07Most fans remember this scene
06:09for its brilliant martial arts moves,
06:11and the fact that Wolverine comes face-to-face
06:13with another adamantium-enhanced mutant,
06:16one who would have bested him
06:17if not for his healing abilities.
06:30But while Deathstrike certainly leaves her mark,
06:32nobody beats Wolverine in a knife fight.
06:34While Nightcrawler's White House bridge scene
06:37earlier in the film was a bit of a disappointment,
06:39watching Deathstrike and Logan clash their adamantium claws
06:42is a highlight of the series as a whole.
06:56Number 14, Hulkbuster vs. Hulk, Avengers Age of Ultron.
07:04All right, everybody, stand down.
07:07All right, everybody, stand down.
07:09Have you ever had a fight with a friend
07:11who can transform into a 1,000-pound embodiment
07:14of rage and destruction?
07:16Well, Tony Stark has.
07:17Any scene that involves the Hulk on a rampage
07:20calls for powerful and loud visuals,
07:22and this scene provides that in spades.
07:26Go to sleep, go to sleep, go to sleep.
07:28Equipped with his Hulkbuster suit,
07:30Tony tries everything to subdue
07:32the out-of-control Bruce Banner
07:34before he levels an entire city.
07:36Using his trademark witty quips and banter,
07:39Tony tries desperately to save Banner from himself
07:41and the judgment of the general public.
07:46I'm sorry.
07:47Number 13, Expressway fight, Deadpool.
07:50I got places to be, a face to fix,
07:52and, oh, bad guys to kill.
07:56There are a number of tried-and-true ways
07:58to build an intro sequence in a superhero movie,
08:01and then there's Deadpool's way.
08:03On the Merc with a Mouth's quest for vengeance,
08:06he encounters a troop of henchmen
08:07traveling down a freeway in an SUV
08:10and decides to give them all a taste of his maximum effort.
08:19The entire scene works as both visual eye candy
08:22as well as a comical delight,
08:24staying true to the character's nature.
08:25The film's willingness to make fun of itself
08:27complements the over-the-top violence of the scene,
08:30which also successfully sets the tone
08:32for the rest of the movie.
08:36Did I leave the stove on?
08:38Number 12, the High Evolutionary Ship,
08:40Guardians of the Galaxy, Volume 3.
08:49With thousands trapped on the ship of the High Evolutionary,
08:52the Guardians stay to make sure no one is left behind.
08:56The only problem is the small army of Hellspawn
08:59and guards in their way.
09:00With some teamwork and an epic soundtrack,
09:03they make it through in a stunning one-take sequence.
09:06No, don't sleep!
09:07Watch out for Blizz!
09:09Run fast!
09:10No, don't sleep!
09:12Watch out for Blizz!
09:14Yeah!
09:15Every member of the team gets their chance to shine,
09:18from Drax laying the smackdown
09:19to Nebula blasting foes with her cyborg abilities.
09:23While the previous films had impressive action,
09:25this scene perfectly captures
09:27just how effective the family of misfits is.
09:35No!
09:41Number 11, Captain Bucky vs. Iron Man,
09:44Captain America, Civil War.
09:46This isn't gonna change what happened.
09:48I don't care.
09:50He killed my mom.
09:53This two-on-one showdown is the film's true climax.
09:57After learning that the Winter Soldier killed his parents,
09:59Iron Man becomes hell-bent on making him pay.
10:02Of course, Captain America steps in
10:04to protect Bucky from his fellow Avenger,
10:06which leads to all three of them duking it out.
10:17Watching these heroes turn against each other
10:19is a heartbreaking spectacle.
10:21It's especially hard to see Bucky lose his arm
10:23and Cap nearly deliver a fatal blow.
10:26The fight concludes on a somber note,
10:28with Steve leaving behind both his shield
10:30and friendship with Tony.
10:35Ugh!
10:38Ugh!
10:44Number 10, Spider-Man Assemble, Spider-Man No Way Home.
10:47I was in the Avengers.
10:48The Avengers?
10:49Yeah.
10:50That's great.
10:52What is that?
10:53Wait, you don't have the Avengers?
10:54Is that a bad?
10:55Are you in a band?
10:56When the first teaser dropped,
10:58fans couldn't wait to see if Tobey Maguire
11:00and Andrew Garfield would cross over into the MCU.
11:03The three Spider-Men more than deliver,
11:05giving us a team up for the ages.
11:08From their web-slinging teamwork to the hilarious banter,
11:11the final battle at the Statue of Liberty
11:13has just about everything fans could hope for.
11:15There were even callbacks to music and dialogue
11:18from past Spider-Man films.
11:21How are you?
11:24Trying to do better.
11:27To this day, we still get emotional
11:29when Peter 3 rescues MJ.
11:31There's also the moment when Peter 2
11:33stops his fellow Spider-Man from killing Norman Osborn,
11:37which felt like a perfect passing of the torch.
11:51Number nine, Quicksilver at the Pentagon,
11:53X-Men Days of Future Past.
11:56No!
12:00There is another version of this scene
12:02where Quicksilver saves an entire school of mutants,
12:06and it's pretty incredible.
12:07However, it doesn't top his initial introduction
12:10to the franchise.
12:11During Magneto's Pentagon breakout,
12:13armed guards hold the mutants at gunpoint.
12:15Little did they know that they were up against
12:17one of the most powerful Marvel characters,
12:20and we're not talking about Wolverine.
12:22If I could save time in a bottle,
12:27the first thing that I'd like to do...
12:30Set to Jim Croce's Time in a Bottle,
12:33Quicksilver uses his super speed to take them all down.
12:36Everything you see in this scene
12:38is a technical achievement in itself.
12:39The drops of water and floating pots and pans
12:42all appear to be moving in slow motion,
12:44as Peter finds increasingly humorous ways
12:47of knocking out the guards.
12:52Ugh!
12:57Number eight, Freeway Attack,
12:59Captain America, The Winter Soldier.
13:09The second entry in the Captain America series
13:11is among the best films the genre has to offer,
13:14and it's filled with memorable action scenes,
13:16including Nick Fury being ambushed
13:18by a team of HYDRA soldiers.
13:20But the scene in which the Winter Soldier
13:22attacks Black Widow and Cap
13:24takes the cake as the best
13:25and most impactful sequence in the film.
13:33The movie abandons the MCU's typical large-scale,
13:37city-destroying superhero action scenes
13:39in favor of a much more grounded approach,
13:41making the scene all the more impressive and intimate.
13:44The scene ends with Steve knocking off
13:46the Winter Soldier's mask to discover
13:48that the man he's been fighting
13:50is really his childhood friend, Bucky,
13:52a man he believed to be dead.
13:59Bucky?
14:00Number seven, Chase Through Nueva York,
14:02Spider-Man Across the Spider-Verse.
14:04Sorry it had to end like this, kid.
14:07I said not to call me that!
14:15Led by Spider-Man 2099,
14:17an army of multiversal spider people
14:20chase after Miles Morales.
14:22Among them include the 1960s cartoon Spider-Man
14:25and Ben Reilly, a clone of Peter Parker from the comics.
14:28Even more bizarre inclusions
14:30are Spider-Rex and Spider-Monkey.
14:32This sequence is more than just an Easter egg hunt.
14:35The chase is the film's most thrilling set piece
14:37and visually one of the best in the franchise.
14:41I can do anything he can.
14:42Oh, dang, I pulled something.
14:44For over 10 intense minutes,
14:46Miles races through a futuristic New York City,
14:49narrowly evading capture.
14:51It all culminates in a showdown on a train bound for space.
14:55Luckily, Miles gains the upper hand,
14:57giving him the opening to make a daring escape.
15:00Goodbye.
15:05Miles!
15:10I taught him how to do that,
15:12so I gotta be a pretty good mentor.
15:14Pull that off.
15:15Number six, The Battle on Titan, Avengers Infinity War.
15:19I think you'll find our will equal to yours.
15:25Our?
15:32Piece of cake, Quill.
15:33This film gives us plenty of moments to choose from.
15:36The battle in Wakanda is one of the many highlights,
15:39especially because of Thor's epic entrance.
15:41But the fight on Titan against Thanos
15:44had even better superhero action.
15:47After the Avengers and Guardians
15:48finally come up with a plan,
15:50they manage to overwhelm and restrain Thanos
15:53with their combined powers.
15:55Magic!
15:56More magic!
15:58Magic with a kick!
16:00Magic with a...
16:01When that doesn't go as planned,
16:03Doctor Strange and Iron Man take him on
16:05in epic one-on-one fights.
16:07The teamwork from our favorite Marvel heroes
16:10and the sheer creativity on display
16:12easily make this one of the best action sequences
16:14from the Avengers.
16:26Number five, The Battle of New York, The Avengers.
16:36Avengers assemble!
16:39This film is a significant landmark
16:41in the history of the superhero genre.
16:43In this scene, the first time our heroes
16:45joined forces to become a real team
16:48is a big part of its legacy.
16:50For lifelong fans and newcomers alike,
16:52the long-awaited live-action team-up
16:54of this iconic superhero group more than delivered.
16:57Doctor Banner,
17:00now might be a really good time for you to get angry.
17:02That's my secret, Cap.
17:07I'm always angry.
17:08The grand sequence takes place across Manhattan
17:11with the impending threat of an alien invasion
17:14by the Chitauri raising the stakes
17:16and presenting our heroes with seemingly impossible odds
17:19of saving the city.
17:20No character is shortchanged in the scene
17:22and the camaraderie and banter between the group
17:25came off as completely authentic.
17:27Fans couldn't wait to see more.
17:29What just happened?
17:31Please tell me nobody kissed me.
17:33Number four, The Train Scene, Spider-Man 2.
17:36Tell everyone to hang on!
17:38Break it down!
17:48You'll find everything you need to know about Spider-Man,
17:50his drive and unrelenting will to help people
17:53and the physical toll that the responsibility takes on him
17:56are aptly demonstrated.
17:58Doc Ock sends a train full of people
18:00speeding towards their doom
18:01and Spidey makes a desperate effort to stop it
18:04by standing at the front
18:06and webbing every passing building to slow its momentum.
18:19Sacrificing his own body in the process,
18:22Peter is shockingly unmasked
18:23and the audience can see the intense expression
18:26of pain on his face as he exhausts all his strength
18:29to fight the train's force.
18:30This epic sequence concludes with the rescued citizens
18:33realizing that their hero is just a kid.
18:36Shocked, they promise to keep his identity a secret.
18:40He's just a kid.
18:44No older than my son.
18:49Number three, Logan's Last Berserker Raid, Logan.
18:59Hugh Jackman's first R-rated film as Wolverine
19:02did not disappoint.
19:03Every fight had all the blood and brutality
19:06we wanted to see from the character
19:07and it's especially the case in this scene.
19:09To save a group of mutant children from the Reavers,
19:12Logan unleashes his rage like never before.
19:15He cuts down every cyborg he comes across
19:17in a thrilling berserker rage.
19:28He even teams up with his daughter, X-23,
19:30who also made a badass entrance earlier in the film.
19:34Together, they tear through the remaining enemies
19:36in a satisfying final showdown.
19:38The stakes had never felt so personal
19:41as Logan wasn't fighting to save the world
19:43but to protect the only family he had left.
19:49Get behind me.
19:50Get behind me.
19:59Number two, Airport Battle, Captain America Civil War.
20:03Your judgment is askew.
20:06Your old war buddy killed innocent people yesterday.
20:07And there are five more super soldiers just like him.
20:10This scene is what dreams are made of
20:12for die-hard Marvel fans.
20:14You've seen them all fight alongside each other
20:16but you've never seen them go head to head like this.
20:20At least not on the big screen.
20:21Not only were viewers blessed
20:23with seeing the original Avengers face off,
20:25they also got the opportunity to see franchise newcomers
20:28such as Spider-Man and Black Panther join the fray.
20:33Move, Captain.
20:35I won't ask a second time.
20:38The fight choreography, clever use of each hero's powers
20:42and quippy dialogue works in unison
20:44to bring together what will surely be known
20:46as one of the most memorable scenes in MCU history.
21:01Does anyone have any orange slices?

21:19Number one, everyone assembles, Avengers Endgame.
21:24Avengers!
21:31Assemble.
21:32No!
21:34There was only ever one way the Infinity Saga
21:37was gonna end, with Captain America
21:40leading the charge against Thanos.
21:42Nearly everyone in this splash panel
21:44gets time in the spotlight,
21:45from Black Panther tossing the gauntlet to Spider-Man
21:48to Wanda nearly defeating Thanos by herself.
21:51You took everything from me.
21:54I don't even know who you are.
21:57You will.
21:58It's no exaggeration to say that each moment
22:01is probably someone's favorite from the entire MCU.
22:04And we're still not over the bittersweet death
22:07of Tony Stark, but it wouldn't be much of a grand finale
22:10if it didn't make you cheer and cry at the same time.
22:13When it comes to Marvel action, it really
22:15doesn't get any better than this.
22:17And I am Iron Man.
22:29If you've seen every Marvel film,
22:31chances are there's a scene that you think should have made it.
