00:00For your information, as of now, 89 out of 156 PBTs have their own landscape department or unit
00:09that functions to manage the landscape development in order to ensure that
00:15the management and maintenance of trees are carried out continuously.
00:20For PBTs that do not have their own landscape department or unit,
00:25this function has been carried out by technical units related to PBTs,
00:29out of 89 PBTs, only 18 have their own landscape department or unit
00:40and are still actively serving.
00:42In this effort to strengthen the management and maintenance of trees
00:47in the airport area of this country, KPKT is very keen
00:51to ensure that each PBT has at least one landscape department or unit
00:55before 2030.
00:58In relation to the issue of trees, KPKT sees this as a serious issue
01:03and has also risked the safety of the public.
01:06One of the causes of this incident could be the trees that are already old
01:12in the airport areas.
01:14In fact, there are several actions that have been taken by KPKT.
01:19First, the Green Area Assessment and Maintenance Programme
01:23focuses on trees that are old, risky and dangerous.
01:31Second, the provision of more than 10 guidelines and tree management manuals
01:36as a reference for the PBTs.
01:38Third, the establishment of professional skills among PBTs
01:43who are provided with a platform for learning and training
01:47through technical training
01:51and will continue to be carried out under the KPKT Training Institute or IKPKT.
01:56Participants will be given a presentation on theory and hands-on sessions
02:01covering the aspects of planting and management
02:04as well as the maintenance of amenity trees
02:06based on the Arboriculture and Horticulture guidelines
02:11through an education and teaching model
02:13that has been designed under the Master Gardener module.
