There is growing anger after Queensland’s landmark First Nations truth-telling inquiry was scrapped by the new LNP government in its first week in office. Inquiry head Joshua Creamer says the premier has not even paid him the courtesy of telling him in person.

00:38I think goes to the conduct of the government and their approach to the truth-telling issue.
00:43David Christofoulis has made no secret of his opposition to the hearings.
00:48I saw what happened during the referendum, I saw the division and I don't want to go
00:52down the same path for Queensland.
00:54During the campaign he also pledged to repeal the Path to Treaty Act.
00:59I didn't use inflammatory language, I didn't seek to divide.
01:03He insists the move is not a lost opportunity.
01:07I've seen the disadvantage and it hurts and I'm determined to do something about it.
01:12But Aboriginal elders say trust is broken.
01:16It's shocking because it's set our community up to fail.
01:20It's a major setback for First Nations communities and I just urge the Premier to pause the decision
01:27for the moment.
01:28But that is unlikely.
