00:00Come to the shoe at Henley, hello sir. Hiya, you alright? It's that time of year. It is. We're
00:04here at Shell Corner in Halsow Inn and if people don't know what Shell Corner is, just give us a
00:10bit of a brief idea. Shell Corner, as I say, great lively area, good community. We all come together
00:17in many events. One, what we've got on the 8th of November, which is a remembrance event at the Shell
00:23which is behind us and that's at 7pm. What's the story with the Shell? It's an actual
00:30artillery shell, isn't it? This is, yeah, I had it donated by the Essex Bomb Squad. The area,
00:35that's how it got its name. There used to be a shell which sat over the other side of the island
00:40and before that the area used to be called the Junction. So that's how the area got its name?
00:45That's right. Fantastic. So who was it that painted it up, Stuart, do you remember? Two
00:50lecturers from Halsow Inn College. Oh wow, and this has become the focal point for Remembrance
00:55Day ever since? It brings everyone together, it's a great event. How long have you been involved?
01:02With the Shell, it was an idea back in 2014, but it's installed in 2018 and the
01:08remembrance event's been ever since. I've worked with the British Legion to organise that every year.
01:13And you've got the lovely tribute bench here and we've just seen you putting poppies in
01:18the tribute just to the side of us as well. A lot of poppies you've had to glue together.
01:23Your hands must be as red as the poppies. Oh yes, it's great.
01:27So if people want to come down and get involved to 8th of November. 8th of November, 7pm.
01:317pm. Just turn up. Great stuff, thank you Stuart. No, thank you.
