01:01On 31st October, 1984, Indira Gandhi was murdered by her two Sikh bodyguards, Satwan Singh and Bayan Singh.
01:09After this, violence was incited in many parts of the country, including Delhi.
01:13Sikhs were targeted in many cities.
01:16They were attacked in a very cruel manner.
01:19The most cruel picture of this was seen in Delhi.
01:22According to the government figures, around 3000 Sikhs were killed within three days.
01:28Rajiv Gandhi commented on this violence.
01:52In June 1984, Prime Minister Indira Gandhi ordered a military operation in Amritsar, Punjab.

02:23The aim of this attack was to get out of the hidden criminals.
02:27But during this time, violence broke out and thousands of citizens were killed.
02:31After the riots, it was difficult to get justice.
02:34The government's relief work was very slow and incomplete.

02:41Survivors who got help had to wait for years.
