00:00Okay, Zaki, we're going to stay with aquatics for the next story.
00:03Although many people know about swimming,
00:05in reality, many do not have the skills to swim.
00:09This may also be due to the lack of opportunities to take the basic swimming class
00:13or a rather high level of urination.
00:15But a former national football player, Ryan Key,
00:18hopes to change that reality.
00:20Let's follow the report from Kamal Nizam.
00:30Founded by an initiative from the former Gangse Sukan Sibu 2005,
00:35Ryan Key and his partner,
00:39Eton Choo, to establish the Selfish Swim Academy,
00:42offers a swimming class package with a low urine level.
00:46Ryan attributes this initiative as one way for more Malaysians,
00:51especially young children, to have wide access
00:55to get involved in the aquatics.
00:58Our mission here, actually, is to increase or reach out towards
01:04all the families or all the kolongans where we cannot reach out previously,
01:10to make sure everyone has this chance of learning how to swim
01:14so that they can learn how to survive themselves.
01:16That's the main mission.
01:18At the same time, of course, we're going to promote our
01:23Super G-Mart programme to more areas of B40 families
01:29so that they can have a chance to actually learn as well.
01:32The most important thing I would like to emphasise here is
01:37talent is talent after being taught.
01:44For Eton Choo, the package offered at this academy
01:47focuses a lot on the less capable students.
01:51At the same time, their academy also has a big mission
01:54to make swimming as a primary activity in schools.
01:59Our Super Saver package is one of the lowest costing packages
02:03where we wanted to be an entry level for students.
02:07It is offered to students who cannot afford much.
02:12It is also offered to schools so that access is easy.
02:18Swimming pool is near, professional teaching will be there
02:22and access will be there.
02:24Barriers to swim must be low.
02:27So we work with schools as well.
02:29We work with international schools, private schools, staff-free schools.
02:33We try our best to make it common.
02:35Swimming has to be common for you to be able to identify talents.
02:44Maybe you have a message for your parents
02:47that gets you into swimming every now and then.
02:50My parents always say that you can do more
02:53and they'll treat me to good food after.
02:56Thank you, Mum and Dad, for letting me join the swimming team.
03:02Pose a little.
