01:01The Denai race is not a new event in Malaysia.
01:04In fact, it started 15 years ago.
01:08Generally, the Denai race competes in 7 categories,
01:12starting with the 7km event,
01:14up to the 100km main race.
01:17The element of openness is the main factor
01:20involving runners from all over Asia,
01:22making this event an annual event.
01:26Absolutely.
01:27Actually, the TMVT was the first 100km trail run in Malaysia,
01:32so we kind of started that back in 2011,
01:35and that started with just a very small group of runners,
01:39and then we grew to 2,000 people,
01:42and it's become very popular around Asia.
01:45And also this time we hosted the Asia Trail Master Championship
01:50together with TMVT,
01:53not only in Malaysia but around Asia for sure.
01:56Now for 2024, we're up to 1,650 runners
02:02representing 32 different nationalities,
02:05so we're quite happy with that steady growth
02:07coming back from our races here.
02:10DENAI RACE
02:20As the Denai race is becoming more popular,
02:23there is already a movement for this race to be held in the main event.
02:28This is because this race has the main feature
02:31to be held in the C category,
02:33below the Category 3 race,
02:35which is the uphill race.
02:37I think that would be a great idea.
02:40Of course it's not one standard thing,
02:43trail runners, many courses,
02:45but it's the same for everyone,
02:47so as long as you set a given distance,
02:50and you know what that is,
02:52there's very strong competition now in Asia,
02:55as we saw during this race over the weekend,
02:58and that I think would be a fantastic addition,
03:01or addition to the C category for sure.
03:05Through the success of this edition of EMBT,
03:09when counting the highest number of participants
03:12during the last 12 editions,
