00:00Welcome to Mediham TV, and it's 7th Art who's questioning you in this chronicle to talk about the 24th edition of the Palmarès,
00:17the national festival of Tangier's film, which ended on October 26th.
00:21And without too many surprises, the jury of the feature film, presided by the director Mohamed Mouftakir,
00:28gave the grand prize to the film Les Meutes by Kamal Zaraq, an acclaimed feature film for its aesthetic power and its poignant look on fragilized lives.
00:39The same distinction came back to Esma El Moudir for her film La mère de tous les mensonges, and this in the documentary category.
00:48I invite you to listen to them, and the images are from Hayet Zeyani.
00:54The grand prize of the festival of Tangier is my first prize at the national festival.
00:58I participated with short films for years, since 2007, so it's my first prize.
01:03I also won the prize of criticism this morning.
01:05It's a prize that is very, very dear to me, because criticism in our country is not the criticism of the United States or France, etc.
01:15So it's very, very dear to me to receive the prize this morning.
01:19And this prize is very important.
01:21It's true that all these prizes that La mère de tous les mensonges has won this year, since 2023, are very interesting.
01:29But to tell the truth, it doesn't scare me, because I'm just going to work in the same way, with the same passion.
01:39And I will continue to give everything I can, and above all, work with emotion and aesthetics at the same time.
01:46And I think that's what cinema is about.
01:49So you should never let go of emotion and aesthetics in a project.
01:52It's true that it's a great pride, because it's true that when we made this film, which had a great career in international festivals,
01:59but it's true that the most important thing for us was to be understood here in Morocco by a jury, with a great Moroccan director.
02:07So to see that everything we wanted to express has been received and understood, and that the film has really touched them,
02:17it's a great pride, a great relief, and above all, a great encouragement for the future.
02:24The 24th edition of the Tanger Film Festival is, for many observers, marked by a plurality of artistic and narrative approaches,
02:32and which highlighted bold, creative and profound works.
02:36The special prize of the jury was crowned Desert by Fawzi Ben Saidi.
02:40The prize for the first work was awarded to Embrace the Wind by Leila Treki.
02:45And among the most popular films of the Tanger Film Festival is the triple A by Jehan Al Bahar,
02:52which was awarded several distinctions, that of the best scenario, the best male role and the second female role.
03:01I invite you to listen to Jehan Al Bahar and Mohamed Sheif Treber, who won the prize for the best film.
03:10It's always a pleasure, it warms the heart to be encouraged, not recognized, but to be encouraged by cinema professionals.
03:19Especially this prize in the national festival, it's a festival that celebrates Moroccan cinema, and for me it has more value than an international prize.
03:29I am very happy because it concerns me directly, as a director.
03:33I am very happy because it is a very tight competition.
03:37There are very beautiful films, films that have made their lives in great festivals.
03:43It is the second prize of the film, because this morning I received the prize of the Federation of Film Clubs,
03:50also the prize of the female interpretation in the festival of Tétouan.
03:55The only solution is to be happy, I am very happy because it rewards a work, a writing that took a lot of time,
04:09because I take my time to work on the film.
04:14The festival is also the school cinema and of course the short film.
04:19The grand prize in this category is given to Rachida Grani.
04:23The special prize of the jury is given to Aymen Hammou for her film Lamb, Cheap and Raven.
04:29And the prize of the screenplay to the very pretty film of the director, Kenza Etzezi, for her short film entitled Brother of Milk.
04:36I suggest you listen to it.
04:40It's a huge chance, I didn't expect it at all, so I'm very, very happy to be able to get this prize for my first short film.
04:46I would like to thank the jury members, the festival and especially the Moroccan Film Center,
04:51and especially for a theme like Fondoukherdaa, which is so important in our Moroccan heritage,
04:57and also this subject of single mothers, so it makes me very happy.
05:02A wonderful week, with very beautiful films, very beautiful suggestions, very beautiful points of view.
05:07As a director, I was impressed by the quality of the films, by the authenticity of the stories,
05:14by the artistic approach, and I think that as a national festival, we have been well rewarded.
05:20We are very happy with the films we have seen, but the best films have been awarded.
05:25This does not mean that the films that have not been awarded were not good.
05:28I wanted to say that this year there may be a film that is less good than the years before,
05:35when I had seen great films too.
05:38The beginning was a bit laborious, with some films that were certainly a bit difficult to tell the story.
05:46And I found that there was still a lot of evolution in the stories that Moroccans begin to tell.
05:53They dare. There are horror films, there are police investigation films.
05:58In any case, there is a variety of offers in terms of cinematography and narration, and I find that very refreshing.
06:06And music to finish, and the new Bruno Mars clip called Apathy, a resolutely pop title.
06:14We also find something a bit rap in the way of putting the voice on Bruno Mars' side.
06:20A featuring clip with the Korean singer Rosé.
06:24A song that went well to become a hit once again.
06:28I'll let you enjoy this excerpt.
06:35Apathy, Apathy
06:37It's whatever, it's whatever, it's whatever you like
