00:00And I got to tell you, uh, Cody, I'm stressed out, uh, as you know, uh, as a Yankee fan,
00:09uh, Friday and Saturday, you know, that ruined my weekend.
00:13So, I mean, I was drunk and I just am not, I am just not feeling good about things.
00:20And I gotta tell you, uh, I thought it was the most harebrained decision I ever saw in
00:25my life to put a guy in that hasn't pitched in two months with a bad elbow to face a Freeman.
00:31I have seen it all in my life.
00:33I've never seen anything so stupid and I, you know, I just don't think he'll ever live
00:38it down.
00:39It's funny you say that because that wasn't even the decision that bothered me that he
00:43made.
00:44Listen, the Nestor Cortez decision was a bad decision.
00:46I would have gone with Tim Hill 10 out of 10 times and here's why.
00:49If you're going to face Shohei Otani on the one at bat, which they already kind of let
00:53us all know the game plan with Shohei Otani.
00:55If they're going to have a one at bat set up like that, they're going to go to Nestor
00:58Cortez against Shohei Otani.
00:59The problem was there was one out.
01:01So if you're banking on Nestor Cortez getting a double play ball from Shohei Otani, then
01:05that's stupid because the rule states, if you bring in a pitcher, he has to face three
01:09batters.
01:10So no matter what, if Shohei Otani doesn't ground to a double play, he's got to deal
01:13with Mookie Betts and then Freddie Freeman.
01:15And quite frankly, the only reason he dealt with Freddie Freeman in that situation was
01:18because of the mistake made by Alex Verdugo.
01:21Alex Verdugo made an incredible catch over to the left side of the field and then he
01:24throws the ball from out of play, thus rendering the ball out of play, which means the base
01:29runners get to advance a base.
01:30You got an open base at first base.
01:32You put on Mookie Betts 10 out of 10 times and you have no choice but to pitch to Freddie
01:35Freeman.
01:36And at that point, you're kind of screwed.
01:39No matter what happens.
01:40It should have been Tim Hill in that spot, but quite frankly, never should have gotten
01:43there because the mistake that Aaron Boone made on Friday night is a mistake that I simply
01:47can't get my head around.
01:49How in the hell do you take out Garrett Cole at 88 pitches while he is cruising through
01:54the Dodgers lineup and quite frankly, was going to get the win by himself?
01:59Should not have happened.
02:00There's a reason you're paying Garrett Cole $325 million and that was the mistake that
02:04in my opinion really cost the Yankees in that game.
