02:10Ladies and gentlemen, the Malaysian digital gaming industry has recorded sales
02:14and exports of as much as RM45 million
02:19through funds provided by the government.
02:22This also proves that the digital gaming industry in Malaysia
02:27has a great potential to be developed through government support
02:32in the access to markets, incubators,
02:35banking, upskilling and reskilling programs, etc.
02:41To increase the promotion and marketing of local digital games,
02:44MDEC has also provided platforms and opportunities for companies
02:48to expand market access.
02:51Among the digital gaming markets that are often participated in
02:54are the Games Developer Conference in the United States,
02:58Tokyo Game Show in Japan,
03:00ChinaJoy in China,
03:02Gamescom in Europe, etc.
03:05Digital gaming companies also have the opportunity
03:07to promote their products
03:09as well as establish a business relationship with publishers
03:13and distributors of local and international digital games.
03:18Local digital games are also promoted in local events
03:23such as Jelajah Saya Digital,
03:25Malaysia Digital Content Festival,
03:28Comic Fiesta, etc.
03:30The Malaysia Digital Content Festival, ladies and gentlemen,
03:33which includes Level Up! KL, Kreative and IMAZ KL,
03:37is an important annual event
03:39for the digital gaming industry in Malaysia
03:42and in Southeast Asia.
03:45Animation is also an important component
03:48in the production of digital games
03:51supported by the Ministry through MDEC.
03:55There are several successful animation companies in this field.
03:59One of them is Kucing Kuberhat,
04:02which has become the first animation production company
04:05to be listed in the Malaysian Stock Exchange
04:08in July this year.
04:10That's all for my answer.
04:13Thank you. I invite Bangi.
04:15Thank you, Mr. Speaker.
04:17Thank you, Mr. Prime Minister, for the answer.
04:20Mr. Speaker, when a game is developed,
04:23the information is not only to prepare the game,
04:26but when the game is ready,
04:28we have to make sure that someone is playing the game.
04:32The game has to be marketed and promoted
04:36so that people know about it and buy it.
04:39So my question is,
04:41for games that receive funding from MDEC,
04:45what steps has the Ministry taken, especially MDEC,
04:48to help in terms of marketing and promotion
04:52of locally developed digital games
04:55to ensure that this digital game
04:58receives international welcome?
05:01I think we don't just want to make sure
05:04that it goes to these conferences,
05:06but at the same time,
05:08we want to make sure that one day,
05:11locally developed games
05:13can become an international game
05:17and be played, for example, in esports.
05:21Thank you, Mr. Speaker.
05:23Thank you, Mr. Prime Minister.
05:25Mr. Speaker, I agree with what Mr. Bangi just said.
05:31We have taken serious steps
05:34to develop the gaming industry in Malaysia.
05:38And after that, we have to make sure
05:41that the results of our actions
05:43can be seen by the local and international markets.
05:49So the question is,
05:51what steps have we taken
05:53to ensure that there is interaction
05:55and a platform
05:57so that we can market our products
05:59to the local and international markets?
06:03To ensure that we are in sync with the times,
06:09we look at the development of the gaming industry
06:13around the world,
06:14and we have many events
06:16where we bring together
06:18the main industry players
06:20from the global market to Malaysia,
06:25and we also bring our companies
06:27from Malaysia to the international market.
06:30For example,
06:31we have the Games Developer Conference in the US,
06:34and the Tokyo Game Show in Japan,
06:37and ChinaJoy in China,
06:39as I mentioned earlier.
06:40These are the platforms
06:42where we can bring our talents
06:45and market the products
06:47that we have built or built in Malaysia.
06:50And it has shown quite good results,
06:52because when we do that,
06:54we see that there is not only a marketing opportunity,
06:58but also talents from Malaysia
07:01can see what the goals of the world
07:04or the global level are in this field,
07:07and they can also ensure
07:09that their products are in line
07:12with the desires of the digital world
07:15in this field of gaming.
07:17In terms of countries,
07:21we also have several big events,
07:24such as the Malaysia Digital Content Festival.
07:27If we attend the festival,
07:30we have two big events every year,
07:33and also small side events.
07:36We see that the reception is quite good.
07:39Many international companies come to Malaysia
07:42because they want to see
07:44the latest games that we have created.
07:49And we see that there are a lot of interests
07:54that are shown by neighboring countries.
07:57So Malaysia is a place
07:59where we gather all these talents
08:01and we show it to the world.
08:04What are the efforts of our talents,
08:09and it has shown quite good results.
08:12I am quite confident that moving forward,
08:15we will expand such events,
08:19because this is an aspect that has shown
08:22that it can have a positive effect
08:25on the digital economy of our country.
