00:00This is your brain. This is your brain on traffic pollution. According to a new
00:05study, brief diesel exhaust exposure acutely impairs functional brain
00:10connectivity in humans. 25 healthy adults went through a double-blind crossover
00:15study of diesel exhaust and control of filtered air. MRIs were performed on all
00:20people in the study. Exposure to diesel showed a decrease in functional
00:25connectivity. The study, done by Canadian researchers and published in the
00:29Environmental Health Journal, shows the first evidence in humans from a
00:33controlled experiment of air pollution inducing altered brain network
00:37connectivity.
