Lauren Petrie has never been able to burp and as a result, has suffered from extreme bloating, cramping and loud gurgling noises coming from her throat for years - and would 'fart a lot'. Although the 34-year-old, from Kettering, Northamptonshire, first noticed her symptoms at 17 years old, she said they have become debilitating over the last two years. 00:20means I cannot burp, like physically I have never ever been able to burp. As I've
00:26got older the symptoms of RCPD have got incredibly more debilitating. It's

00:53not coming out. And this is very normal for someone with RCPD, we get these
00:57throat gurgles. But the ones that I captured earlier? Oh my god, nobody's
01:05body should make these noises. I just want to warn you, it sounds like a
01:09dinosaur. Yeah, that came from my throat area. Other symptoms include bloating,
01:19like extreme bloating, like not the kind of bloating you get from eating too much
01:24pizza. I mean it's unbearably uncomfortable. I have cramping and
01:29stomach aches all day, every day. Sometimes I have so much trapped air
01:33inside of me it feels like I'm drowning. I'm being dead-ass serious, like I feel
01:37like I can't get any air inside of me. All of this here, my esophagus just feels
01:42so full of air. I feel like I can't get any air in me or I can't get any air out.

01:56So I had the surgery just over a week ago. The results this time, oh my god,
02:05quite literally life-changing. Look, I have been suffering with RCPD, there's no
02:10birth thing, for my whole life. I'm 34 now and it started to get really bad when I
02:15was about 32. Basically my life has been on hold for the past two years. It's
02:20become a chronic illness. I've not done much of anything in the past two years
02:24because of it. Trust me, right now I am burping like a sailor. I sound like a
02:29five-year-old boy.
02:32I've never been able to burp that loud in my whole life. It's so good.
