00:00A few places in Camarines Sur were still submerged after the storm Christine.
00:06And live from Naga City, we have the first news from John Consulta.
00:10John?
00:13With the help of the new rescue units and equipment of the Philippine Red Cross from Manila,
00:21one of the most difficult places hit by the storm Christine in Cam Sur was able to enter.
00:31The Manila-based Emergency Response Team of the Philippine Red Cross
00:36entered Barangay Del Rosario Zone 6, San Fernando, Camarines Sur
00:40using rubber boats and large 6x6 rescue trucks.
00:44The group was able to rescue a pregnant woman who was almost a month old
00:48and close to her children and a one-year-old baby.
00:52The rescuers were able to reach deep into the river Sinuong
00:56just to rescue the mother.
00:58It was difficult for the PRC to rescue because the rescuers crossed the river
01:02which is 5 kilometers long and reaches up to Balicat or almost 5 feet.
01:08It was difficult for the Philippine Red Cross to rescue the 500-meter-long line of vehicles
01:15that were submerged in the river towards the direction of Naga.
01:19Last night, a 1-kilometer-long cargo truck that was stranded in Cam Sur came to us.
01:25According to the drivers we talked to, they were supposed to return to Manila
01:30when the flood suddenly hit their roads so they had nothing to do
01:36but to just wait for the flood to subside.
01:43For now, the good news is that we have received information from the Philippine Coast Guard here in Cam Sur
01:50that they have new equipment and vehicles that are big enough for them to use
01:57when they enter deep areas where they cannot reach because the flood level is too high.
02:06But at this time, there is a deployment in two towns here in Cam Sur
02:11to help our fellow countrymen who are already suffering
02:15because of the permission of the government to bring the flood relief.
02:21This is the latest from Cam Sur.
02:23Be careful.
02:24Thank you very much and be careful, John.
