Pupils from Ellesmere Muscat school visit Ellesmere College for the first time.
Transcript
00:00Okay Stephen, so we're here at Ellesmere College. Just explain what's been going on this week.
00:04Yes, so this week we've welcomed for the first time our students from our partner school in Ellesmere in Muscat.
00:09So the boys have flown over last Friday and had a week with us to experience life in a boarding school.
00:14A big part of that's been our football academy and very much that cultural exchange between the two schools.
00:19And I believe this is the first time you've done this?
00:21Very much so, yes. It's the first time in terms of our partnership with the school starting last year.
00:25The first trip we got over the line, which is brilliant and it's been an amazing week for the boys.
00:29They've had visits to various football clubs, various stadiums.
00:31They've had a long week and a busy week, which has been a lot of fun.
00:33What kind of comments have you had from the lads?
00:35The parents and the boys have been great.
00:37They've always said that they didn't realise what a boarding school was like.
00:40They were excited by that tradition to see what it was like living in a school.
00:43But the fact of coming to the UK with the football, they've really integrated with the boys in the school as well and really found it a lot of fun.
00:50And are there any plans to do this again in the future?
00:52Definitely. The boys are already here. When they come back, they'll be keen to move forward on that and come back again.
00:57And likewise, we have another partner school in Rehad and they themselves are keen to follow.
01:01Having seen what the boys have done here from Muscat, I seem to mirror that and we're very happy to do so.
