दिल्ली: भारतीय महिला हॉकी टीम की पूर्व कप्तान रानी रामपाल ने संन्यास का ऐलान कर दिया है। इसके साथ ही रानी रामपाल के 16 साल के हॉकी करियर पर विराम लग गया है। संन्यास लेने के बाद रानी रामपाल ने कहा कि मेरे करियर की सबसे प्यारी याद टोक्यो ओलंपिक है, जब हमने क्वार्टर फाइनल में ऑस्ट्रेलिया को हराया था, यह पहली बार था जब महिला टीम शीर्ष चार में रही थी। यह वास्तव में सम्मान की बात है कि मेरा संन्यास हमारे हॉकी जादूगर मेजर ध्यानचंद के राष्ट्रीय स्टेडियम में हुआ। यह 11 वर्षों में यहां खेला जाने वाला पहला खेल था। पिछली बार मैंने यहां 2012 ओलंपिक क्वालीफायर के दौरान खेला था और मुझे बहुत खुशी है कि मुझे यहां अपने संन्यास की घोषणा करने का मौका मिला।
