Putin praises BRICS as Western 'perverse methods' counterweight

Putin praised the bloc for countering the West's policies, pushing for a new payment system to bypass sanctions.

00:11The three-day conference was attended by 36 countries as well as UN Secretary-General

00:18It covered the deepening of financial cooperation, including the development of alternatives

00:22to Western-dominated payment systems, as well as settling regional conflicts and moving

00:27to expand the group's members.

00:29Speaking at Thursday's plenary session, Putin spoke of a shared vision of new democratic

00:34global order, while also blaming Western sanctions for undermining regional stability, including

00:39in Ukraine.

00:40One of the examples of this is Ukraine, which is used to create critical threats to the

00:49security of Russia, ignoring at the same time our vital interests, fair concerns and infringements

00:57of Russian-speaking people.

00:59And now, in general, they do not hide the goal of strategic damage to our country.

01:05Putin also proposed to reform the UN, expanding the representation of the countries of Asia,

01:10Africa and Latin America.
