00:54At least one person was killed and several injured in a strike on a residential building
00:58in the city's southern suburb of Dahiye.
01:01In southern Lebanon, three soldiers of the Lebanese army were killed in an Israeli strike
01:06on its troops.
01:07Since the end of September, a total of 13 Lebanese soldiers have been killed.
01:12The Lebanese army is not fighting the Israelis in their conflict with Hezbollah, but providing
01:16support services for the civilian population.
01:20Israel has also expanded its military campaign to the ancient city of Tyre after issuing
01:25evacuation orders.
01:27The evacuation area covered a densely populated stretch between two UNESCO World Heritage
01:32sites.
01:34Meanwhile, the World Health Organization postponed its last round of polio vaccinations in northern
01:40Gaza because of intense bombardment.
01:45Israel's ongoing siege of the area has displaced more than 60,000 Palestinians to central Gaza.
01:50In the first public confirmation by the U.S., the Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said on
02:04Wednesday that there is evidence that North Korean troops are in Russia and it remains
02:09to be seen what they would be doing there.
02:12As we continue to look at this, there is evidence that there are DPRK troops in Russia.

02:30Hours earlier, Ukraine's military intelligence chief, Kyrill Budanov, said that the first
02:34North Korean units were expected to arrive to Russia's Kursk region on Wednesday, the
02:3923rd of October.
02:41They could supposedly help Russia resist Ukraine's incursion.
02:45Early in October, Budanov said the total number of around 11,000 North Korean troops in Russia
02:52will be ready to fight in Ukraine by the 1st of November.
02:56He said that in return, Russia is helping North Korea evade sanctions and develop its
03:01nuclear capabilities, including providing technologies for smaller tactical nuclear
03:06weapons and submarine missile launch systems.
03:10South Korea's spy chief stated that about 3,000 North Korean troops have been sent to
03:16Russia and they're now receiving training on drones and other equipment before being
03:21deployed to the battlefield in Ukraine.
03:24About 10,000 North Korean troops are expected to arrive in December.
03:37Volodymyr Zelensky said earlier that according to the military intelligence, some North Korean
03:41officers are already in the occupied territories of Ukraine.
03:51Poland's President Andrzej Duda arrived at South Korea's presidential office on Thursday
03:56for a summit with President Jens Stoltenberg.
03:59Their meeting takes place in a special context as North Korea has sent troops to Russia as
04:03it wages war in Ukraine.

06:31Parliament's 2024 Daphne Caruana Galizia Prize for Journalism.
06:38Lost in Europe, a project led by Dutch journalist Heysha Van Haren revealed that since 2021,
06:45on average nearly 47 migrant children arriving in Europe have gone missing per day.
06:51The research uncovered significant inconsistencies in documentation and reporting across 31 countries,
06:58including Austria, Germany and Italy, raising concerns that the actual number of missing
07:03children may be higher.
07:05They say this is just a tip of the iceberg that there were 51,433 children missing.
07:16The last time that we did this investigation, there were only 18,000 children missing back
07:23in 2021.
07:24So the number did increase.
07:27We don't know what happens if we do the investigation again in three years.
07:32The investigation found that many of these children fall victim to human trafficking
07:37or get caught up in people smuggling gangs.
07:41Many children are also caught at the borders and they end up in prison for people smuggling
07:47whilst they were smuggled themselves.
07:50So the EU war against people smuggling works out the other way for minor children.
07:58A lot of minor children are in adult detention because of that.
08:04The Lost in Europe team received their award at a ceremony in Strasbourg.
08:11At least five people have been killed and around 20 injured in an apparent terrorist
08:16attack in the Turkish capital of Ankara.
08:21Assailants set off explosives and opened fire against the Turkish state-run aerospace and
08:25defence company, according to Turkish President Erdogan.
08:31Local media reported three assailants, including a woman, arriving at an entry to the complex
08:36inside a taxi.
08:38Authorities said two of the attackers had been neutralised and ambulance and firefighters
08:43were dispatched to the site.
08:45Helicopters were seen flying above the headquarters of Turkish Aerospace Industries as security
08:51forces entered the site, according to local media.

09:17Pensions has become a hot topic in Germany, with several political parties capitalising
09:21on poverty amongst retirees.
09:24We sat down with Berlin pensioner Anqi, who told us she receives 1,500 Euros net per month
09:30after a 45-year career working as an elderly carer, to ask about the reality of pensions.
09:41And what about the other pensioners at the care home Anqi worked at?
09:54The pensioners at the care home Anqi worked at were often left behind by their relatives.
10:00Many of them had very little.
10:02They only had a little bit of basic pocket money per month.
10:06They themselves were not well off.
10:08In the past, many of them, especially the women, were at home.
10:12They were dependent on their husband or took care of their children.
10:19I think they are very left behind.
10:25We spoke to the German pension system, who highlighted that pensions are tied to wage development
10:31and said that pensions have increased by 4.5% this year.
10:35They also recommended relying on other sources of income for retiring.
10:48There is not only legal pension insurance, but many other sources of income.
10:52For example, there are three pillars.
10:55The large, supporting pillar is legal pension insurance.
10:58But there is also private and operational pension insurance.
11:03These can also be sources of income in old age.
11:06There is also capital assets.
11:09There is income from rental and mortgage.
11:12There may be a partner who finances you.
11:15So that when you look at your retirement income later,
11:19you should always look at the household context
11:23and not just look at the legal pension insurance.
11:26Despite that, the pension system is a gift that allows seniors who have contributed to society for 45 years
11:32to be given the opportunity to retire for another few decades in peace.
