00:00We also felt the approaching of Hurricane Christine in the Ilocos region, where it is expected to pass before it leaves the West Philippine Sea.

00:10From Bacaran, Ilocos Norte, J.P. Soriano was live. J.P.?

00:16We are now here at an evacuation center where more than 300 people were evacuated from three barangays.

00:29They were brought here to ensure their safety in the face of the impact of Hurricane Christine, which is expected to be felt here in Ilocos Norte, sooner or later.

00:41The wind is getting stronger and the rain is getting heavier tonight here in Barangay Casilian, in the town of Bacara, in the province of Ilocos Norte, when the GMA Integrated News arrived.

00:55This is one of the barangays in the town that has experienced heavy rainfall whenever there is a storm with heavy rain.

01:03When the river next to the barangay floods and the waves rise from the sea, it drowns, especially when a part of the river we can see tonight is damaged.

01:15It becomes an island barangay when the Bislak River swells. We cannot reach them anymore.

01:23Because of this, more than 100 families of the barangay were immediately evacuated and brought to the evacuation center.

01:30Some of them are Mercedes and Romana. The water is dripping from the river near their house before they left.

01:39Our barangay is near the sea and the river, sir.

01:46Are you afraid of floods?

01:48Yes, sir. The water is fast, sir.

01:51Reinaldo doesn't want to leave his belongings and poultry, but he just wants to ensure the safety of his baby, Carlo.

01:59That's why we are now in a hurry to evacuate.

02:02Maybe the water will overflow and we won't be able to pass because the river is damaged.

02:09There are 21 municipalities and 2 cities in the province of Ilocos Norte that are now alerted to the effects of Hurricane Christine tomorrow or the day after tomorrow.

02:21Just yesterday, Ilocos felt the effect of Signal No. 2 in some parts of Cabugao, Ilocos Sur.

02:29The waves are strong in the coastal area of Santa Maria, Ilocos Sur.

02:35But some young people are still swimming even though it is prohibited when there is a strong storm.

02:41Mel, even if the effects of Hurricane Christine are expected tomorrow or the day after tomorrow in Ilocos Norte, the local authorities are alerted and the rubber boat is ready.

02:55If there is a need to evacuate, this is what they do to make sure that no one will be hurt.
