The Ivy Brasserie has revealed the opening date of its restaurant in a former Bank of England building in Liverpool city centre. Plans to convert the former bank on Castle Street into a new dining venue were signed off by Liverpool Council's planning committee last August.

00:07Becoming the Ivy's third venue in the north-west, the 180-cover restaurant on Castle Street
00:12will offer a range of food from breakfast and brunch to its all-day a la carte offerings
00:16and signature Sunday roast.
00:17The new venue will also offer afternoon tea and a private dining room for special occasions.
00:22The former bank building was famously occupied in 2015 by a group called Love Activists who
00:28called for it to be used as a centre to support homeless people.
00:31Plans to convert the ground floor into a restaurant use along with commercial kitchens were first
00:36submitted in 2022.
00:38The plans to convert the former bank into a new dining venue were signed off by Liverpool
00:42City Council's planning committee last August, with speculation rife over who would take
00:46over the location.
00:47The proposals are bringing the site back into life having been left vacant for the best
00:52part of two decades.
00:54The new Liverpool restaurant will officially open its doors on November 19th in the Grade
00:581 listed building.
